Which version of directX or openGl are involved? Maybe the most sensitive games are all on one common underlying engine like unreal? Do you put only one game on a hard drive for the test? Game installs might interfere with each other s settings for graphics systems dlls

Eg Vulcan vs Opengl vs Directx, or Unity vs Unreal vs Whatever... I don't know, you probably already thought about this but it's all so strange...

Anyone else facing severe frequent OS Crash issues with KB5041587 ? I face sudden restarts (like a Hardware Reset) or BSoD'S with variying Errors (all over the place)

I am using a Ryzen 7950X3D on a Asus x670e ProArt + 2x32GB DDR5 Ram -> Curve-Optimizer PBO set to -15 on Win 11 23H2. The settings run solid without crashes without KB5041587. But with the Update in a full day of use i ran into 10 Crashes at least each day.

Run to run variance with the "bad install", what the hell is the OS doing?

Turn TPM and trusted computing off in the BIOS it fixed my stuttering and latency problems after update. Didn't break anything either so far so good.

For someone who used to reinstall Windows quite often in the past that's not breaking new. Windows have always been a mess.

Windows is a data replicating algo which is constantly copying/pasting and creating files/folders and adjust security levels on the fly.
In other words : windows has become a real security threat for everyone.
The insane amount of microsoft connection to servers nobody needs is insane and uncalled for !

It would be nice with Linux benchmarks too for the Linux gamers. I know it involves using Proton for non-native games, but Proton has become really good these days in terms of overhead.

Just asking because I started putting together a around 1.000€ PC for a friend and the 5700X3D makes the most send to me for a pure gaming PC.

So what's this "bad install" about? Of course I've watched the video, but does that include an upgrade from 10 to 11? From 22H2 to 23H2? It's not really clear to me.

10% more performance it's a lot, just think 7700x it's just 3-5% slower than 149000k and 9-10% slower than 7800x3d it's basically a cpu upgrade

Are the margins the same no matter if the system uses an Nvidia, AMD or Intel GPU?
Probably unrelated: I remember there was a thing where any Nvidia driver past 537.58 introduced slight stuttering in browsers noticeable f.e. when using middle mouse button to scroll a page. It may or may not have only affected systems with certain refresh rates. And iirc Nvidia said that they did all they could to mitigate it and that this was a Windows bug that would be fixed in some future update. It's not unthinkable that the root cause for this problem could have also caused other symptoms.

My Windows install is 11 years old. Started life as 8.1. 6 CPU's and many updates over the years. Still runs smooth as butter.

While 5% difference is hardly noticeable , it's so frustrating how bad windows has become
