R5 5600 vs 5600X vs i5-12400F - Which CPU is Better Value for Money?

The fact 5600X runs on older motherboards and is last a gen cpu competing with 12/13th gen i5 is crazy. It doesn't bottleneck high end gpus (3080 and up). It can be used in an ultra budget build. Impressive to say the least. Clearly it should be in a 570 motherboard at the minimum with 3600mhz ram and gen 4 m.2. These can be bought 2nd hand cheap now. And m.2 is at the best prices it's ever been at. While 12th/13th intel is premium priced currently, not cheap at all.

When I upgraded from an Rx 580 8gb to an Rtx 3080 10gb I was really surprised at how cpu bottlenecked I was with the r5 2600. It's amazing that the r5 5600x with pbo optimized per core is. The best part is I didn't have to upgrade my motherboard so it was an obvious budget choice in 2023.

I bought my daughter the 5600, brilliant CPU for the money. Put it with my sons old 32GB DDR4 3200 and 3060 12GB. Also got her a WD Blue 1TB NVMe drive and it averages 59fps on Ultra/High settings on the Red Dead Redemption demo on a 3440x1440p monitor. Gets 120fps in Fortnite High settings.

its fun fact how r5 5600/x can keep it up with 12400f&13400f in gaming even r5 5600x was released 2-3 years earlier while in same time 8700k and 9700k ,10600k was not able to keep it up with 5600x even they were only 1-2 year older , basically they outdated very fast

That 5600 is looking very nice at stock. Overclocked it will be even sweeter. Time to say goodbye to the old overclocked 2600 champion.

I'm planning to build a new pc with a 5600x. I was always on the Team Blue but this time around considering my budget I think I'd go with Team red. Intel boards are just more expensive from where I live.
