Supposedly being saved in the event of war. Let's park everything in one place, like Pearl Harbor.

There is a class of ships called a Battleship. Not all navy ships are battleships even though they may have been used in battles. By referring to all navy ships as battleship shows you have no actually understanding of Navy ship classes.

The word you are looking for is Warship. That’s the catchall word to describe any fighting vessel.

... interesting, woulve like to go to Philly and actually see what's there. Not to change the subject but was there just once , four years ago. Saw another ship that was important in a different way, the S.S. United States. Was great to see it in person, bigger than I thought.

Must say, the "old film" filter is annoying

Does anyone remember making little guns out of two old school wooden clothes pins.
Good stuff, video is me and my friends back in Philadelphia. Thanks 😊❤

There is one interesting and rather curious ship in the Philadelphia shipyard and harbor that the U.S Navy has avoided mentioning: October 23, 1943 - The U.S.S Eldridge 🚢🛳️ unlike other ships, it was a time traveler 🧐🫡🌈

I like the history, but the mispronunciations are jarring. Admiral Halsey. Hall-zee. Bremerton. Brem-er-ton.

All 5 iowa class BBs r museums and New Jersey wasn't the last to retire that would be the USS Missouri which was retired in 2011 however even though they r stricken from the registry which is required to hand over the ships to non profits to use as museums they r required to maintain them for battle readiness in case they r needed again..they have to keep them maintained to a point that if called out of retirement they can be ready for battle within 72 hours...

The USS Olympia is also there in the Delaware River. Last existing ship of the Spanish American war

I don't see any battleships except New Jersey, and another note, Enterprise CV-6 is the most decorated, New Jersey being a close second.
