Just mind-mindbogglingly wonderful. I enjoyed every single one of these. There is nothing as pure as piano and violin. Classical music will always be.

some of those players are not human, they are some kind of new robot plugged into a database, that streams into them digital bits in order to play as they do

What is obvious is that the level has declined with each passing year. Heiftez--the pinnacle, then Oistrakh ...........................and then the rest...

What a nice collection. Now a though and a nagging question that maybe those here might be able to answer.
RE: Thought: Considering the "rules" of who has to memorize, the solo piano and solo violin are the two. I wonder if it is a convention that the piano accompaniment must use sheet music so as not to "upstage" the violin? And the irony of that one is in the case of Yuja whom might be the most likely to memorize her part, they both used sheet music which I thought was wonderful in a Maria Pires keeping it "festival" sort of way.
RE: Nagging Question: For years now, I've been trying to find the movie with the spectacular violin virtuoso chasing a love interest around in a restaurant. The violinist might have been a chef or a waiter I seem to recall wearing the white shirt uniform (NOTE: but please bear with me, my memory is atrocious an what I "recall" could be complete nonsense. But the chasing her around is for real-zees!)
AGAIN, thanks for the collection.
