Oculus Rift S VR Cover & Headstrap Mod

Only problem I have with the rift s default halo plastic is how it squeezes against the back of my head, feels like it's squeezing my brain stem

i got the Rift S and the cog at the back is loose doesn't always tighten properly....strings of hair stuck in the eye foam brush me ever so slightly.

but this... this looks wonderful. last time you showed me pistol which now you've shown me this upgrade!

I might keep the Rift S over the Oculus 2 until I can afford one for now.

the rift s is honestly cheaply made, ive had countless problems with every possible mechanism.

Just so y'all are aware the hooks links lead to nowhere now. I think they got removed or something

The Vive headset is worth it someone is now selling a plastic piece called the frankenreft it's just three pieces of plastic with double back tape that sets on the Oculus rift s to directly click the Vive headset on works like a charm and I love it dearly Great sound

I can’t seem to find those adhesive hooks anywhere, can someone recommend me some?

With this new adjustment will I be able to flip up the front of the rift s? as on the original you cant do that. ( is there a different strap that i could use that would let me do this?)

When i check VRcover for rift s the stock is bleak they dont have any kind of nice foam for it? just a cover? or a silicone cover? :( sucks cause i tried many silicone and fabric covers but they arent helping comfort at all for me. any suggestions? my budget is anything providing the comfort is greatly increased

ok i wouldnt advise using the hooks as the adhesive is useless and the hooks come straight off as i tried this method to fix the original velcro strap back on, as the plastic hoop on the headband had snaped off, and yes i cleaned it well with alcohol, i would be interested to know if mikes is still attached or has he now dumped his rift s with much better headsets available now

they should just add some fucking plastic soundwave reflectors off the back of the headset that cover your ears and reflect the audio coming out of the speakers back at you.... honestly try my "Ghetto Soundwave Reflectors" just put your hands on your headset and cover your ears... you'll instantly notice that the sound quality improves 10 fold just by reflecting the soundwaves with your hands...

i even took it a step further just to insult oculus's shitty audio solution i cut out 2 squares of corrugated cardboard and taped them over my ears... the sound is close to studio quality now

Found a product on Etsy that is a good alterative then using the hooks and Velcro to hold on the strap. Go to Etsy and search this product "FrankenRift Adapters for Oculus Rift-S to Vive Deluxe Audio Strap (DAS)".

I would not trust the connection between the plastic face molding and headset body, one of the plastic clips has already warn out on mine and constantly comes undone when I lift the HMD off my head

as a guy who just bought his rift s and has dreadlocks ,that strap mod looks great but a nightmare for hair comfort lol

I can't find that facial interface! I would love to put that on there to allow ideal placement of the audio strap. With the silicone cover I have, you can't put the strap in place to get the best contact with the headphones.

Where do I get a new head strap for rift s mine is kinda broken idk how I went on a vacation for 15 days came back and my strap is lose it won’t tighten up whyyyy!!!!

I like the stock. I don’t like the piece where my nose goes because it sometimes is itchy but other than that, I love it

I wonder why no one has decided to make a replacement headstrap for the rift s yet.

can someone confirm that removing the foam already on the facial interface will NOT void my warranty because i always thought it would

During any sessions longer than 90 minutes in my Rift S, the amount of pressure I feel on my head caused by the default Oculus headband makes my skull feel as if it's being crushed in a vice.

for me the rift s really hurts my head just cause how tight it is and how much weight is all on the front top of my fore head. it leaves clear indention for days too which worrys me. so i was looking for anything i could do to change it and make it easier on my body. thats how i came across this video. not sure if this is what i wanna do but i do think it would be better then how it is now except i alos wear glasses so idk if itll fit well after.

The vr cover is the one that says oculus rift? Bc in oculus rift s's part i can't find that foam cover only the silicone one

I’ve got the rift S and with all these mods that are required (and the fact it doesn’t work with my main gaming rig) I’m pretty disgruntled. Should have just sprung for the index...

It doesn't look very stable long-term with the headstrap attached to the sides of the face cover that's only held in by velcro.

so much effort for slightly better sound, any decent bt headphone is better isnt it ?

how much is a deluxe audio strap cant find good pricing in the us

i'm using some clip on head phones plug into the headset. Works great and sounds just like the oculus rift. Problem is my left channel has stopped working. I can push on the jack and it connects but now that doesn't even work. any ideas?

any solutions for people in eu.... specially for valve index covers and rift s covers?

Or you can just save money and strap any headphones to the headset. It actually would make headset more comfortable.

I just use bluetooth headphones because I feel like that's a lot nicer for me.

You know, you kept recommending that strap but seeing how it's apparently discontinued (nothing in the vive shop or amazon and on eBay frequently for 200-300$), if you know of an alternative, it would make for a great new video. :)

I guess, it will void the warranty if i replace the cover.... the foam is really uncomfortable on the rift s if you play some longer games

I'm thinking about removing foam completely, i think with foam or any other replacement it is to uncomfortable and tight.
