It was good preparation by the Ukrainian army to blow the dam before deploying all their remaining forces next to it. Fairly sure if they had not blown it now and let the water drain, the russians may have targeted it later once they were vunrable and close to it.

It was clearly in Russia’s interest to destroy this dam…collateral damage to Crimea reflect’s Russian incompetence. Let’s wait for investigation but for me it is clearly just another war crime from Kremlin.
