don't know why you use moors still. seems like they are always shafting your cars with advisories for things they have sorted which is not what they need to do.... find a better garage would be some good advice

On that yaris bud it's half a days work, you can always free calipers off, few brake pipes, bit of shutz, polish lamps, hardly 400 quid and they've stuffed you on advisory, you've just got to do these things in house, just throwing money away on an old 07 plate car (!)

If the warranty company will not cover for specific faults on certain vehicles IMHO they should itemise them before accepting policy cover/payment.

Hi James love you videos 😉 my question to you would be don't you sometimes wonder why most modern cars cant reach 100.000 miles without having a major issue? Just seems rhat there is just far to much to go wrong with a modern car . Bring back the old Corina's and capries I say 😉😀.

Then what's the point in having their warranty if they won't cover known faults? They could claim anything's a "known fault". That's absolutely disgraceful

MOTs seem to becoming more of a comment on anything noticeable on the car being tested. I always thought they were an inspection/test of road worthiness, not to comment something "ooh I've noticed a bit of underseal on it, stick that down as an advisory". Worst I've ever seen was earlier this year while looking for a new (to me) car, one had an advisory stating there was no heatshield present, but the tester had actually written "dont know if it comes with a heatshield from factory" - so the car got an advisory for the tester not knowing something and not bothering to find out?! As for the Nissan, yet another example of this country being a shambles when it comes to manufacturers known faults, if it were Germany or the US they'd be ordered to recall and replace - none of this if its within 8yrs and all that rubbish

I was a U.K. car dealer using warranty wise nearly 10 years ago. Spent thousands a month with them. They refused the first and only claim of £450 for a failed module. Never used them again and rejected the policy returning £1350 to myself to make the repairs. Absolutely terrible customer service.

My experience of these warranties leaves the buyer with two options.
Option One; Prior to purchasing, employ a First Class Corporate Lawyer to scrutinize the documentation.
Option Two; Having purchased the warranty, hang the paperwork in a convenient position close to the toilet.

I suggest you contact the warranty company and ask them the date their Terms and Conditions changed to exclude know faults. If this was recently and they did not contact regular users of the warranty to highlight the substantive amendment then they will be caught under unfair contract terms.

Great video shame on the yaris why theres advisories on it when work done but then they have to cover themselves. As for the xtrail is the customer in her rights to give car back as its not fit for purpose might save you some me oney and the lady. Nissan are a disgrace for not fixing a known problem in this cast a crappy gearbox.

I personally don’t feel it’s appropriate to ask the customer for a contribution towards repairs. They’ve paid dealer price for the vehicle and warranty, rather than pay a lot less buying privately. That warranty is what you’re paying the extra for, you really shouldn’t even consider taking extra money from the customer, they’ve already been inconvenienced without having to pay more for the vehicle they’ve already bought.

Great content as always. I now realise with your "end of life" car analogy that as of next April when I reach 75 and probably 4,585,687 miles the Fair wear and tear is about up for me so I will be well out of warranty-guess will have to live on my wits from now on now I am "End of life". I regularly change my oil and clear my Cat so hopefully "if looked after" will last a few years yet, mileage per annum is well down on previous years have just had my teeth cleaned (not ceramic coated) Must admit my clear coating is showing signs of wear and I do have considerable lacquer peel-But heyho!!!! Bit stuck on the underseal thing, they have to put underseal as an advisory, better than putting surface rust on underside I suppose.

As soon as you get an older car in bud, up on ramps, quick wire brush and a couple of cans of satin black paint, then they can't do advisory for underseal, which people think is dodgy anyway, it's all a bit daft anyway, old 07 car (16 years old has surface rust) buy cheap black aresols, I use loads, these advisory things are a nightmare now, people are obsessed by them, there worse than failures tbh.

Even a main dealer warranty can be a fight to get to pay for work. Took my car into the main dealer for brake fluid change and the next day am told lots wrong with the brake system and the car is un-drivable. And it will be almost £4k to fix! No problem I thought, the warranty will cover it. They wriggled out of it saying that the brake calliper was the root cause of the fault, which is classed as a consumable item and therefore none of the knock on parts were covered!

Eventually the garage showed me a report that they had within weeks of the problem occurring saying it wasn't the calliper that was the main cause of the failure (despite them leading me on for several months believing it was the calliper). I then pointed out that if the part in that report is covered (which it was), then surely all the knock on parts should also be covered.

For some reason, the warranty company still wriggled out of most of it, but the dealer and the manufacturer contributed so I didn't have to pay anything.

My argument was that we bought the car new from them, had it serviced correctly by them (according to the schedule etc) and also have the manufacturer extended warranty, all those things are done to protect me from £4k bills!

The dealer were never able to explain why they thought it broke, they couldn't say servicing had been done wrong, as they serviced it!

This was the main BMW dealer local to me. They did give me a loan car for most of the time.
