They made some nice improvements on that machine. If I had the need for something that large this would be a definite purchase.
For now my shop vac and leaf blower are working quite well.
Looks great but I'd probably just get a dewalt stealhsonic 16 gallon tbh.
ОтветитьI truly believe most of those features are superfluous. A remote can be had for like $25 on Amazon. My filter has a crank at the top to agitate the filter media and knock dust off (literally a 5 second procedure). I never have to worry about over-filling since I use clear bags (which I reuse). The best thing I ever did was mount my unit to the wall since floor space is a premium in my modest-size shop (pretty sure the ones in the video can't do that). I am not, in any way, trying to discredit this video or 731. I am just trying to get across the point that the more integrated features something has, the more things that can go wrong and lead to downtime. Thanks for the content!
ОтветитьBig laguna fan. Wish Laguna would expand their line. Router table, drill press, etc.
ОтветитьI love a good dust collection system and I really love this new version but $3000 for the smallest one is just.... Wow!
ОтветитьThumbs down, I'm tired of paid commercials by tool manufacterers.
ОтветитьI ordered this on the day is was released in February. I’m still waiting for it. It’s good to see they send units to “influencers” first before their patiently waiting and paying customers.
ОтветитьI wish I had one, or could ever even afford one.
When your Handecap it almost impossible to
get started or even to save over time without
someone's help.
Sorry for the rant.
Just my 2 cents. I worked in a professional cabinet shop and they had laguna 4hp sliding table saw, laguna edge bander, and the 2 or 3hp laguna pflux dust collector. The saw and edgebander are 10k$ + each and they were the worst. I'll never buy a laguna machine. Their reliability is not great. I've heard great things about their 1412 bandsaw but never used it so can't comment on it. I've only used the 3 tools mentioned above and used them daily and hate them. The dust collector is ok, not impressed with it. The remote stopped working after a month and it doesn't turn on sometimes. Only way it will turn on is if you plug it in and turn it on 1 sec after. This is a known issue from laguna and was told they are working on it. Anyways edge bander is great when it works but only does that 40% of time. Many reps have come out to fix it ands it still doesn't perform like a 10k machine should. Same with table saw. Tons of wiring issues and the dust collection on the saw it horrendous. Also 2 blown motors within 1 year is unacceptable for 10k saw. Their customer service isn't great either. Again I've only used those 3 machines and based on working with them daily, I will never buy laguna
ОтветитьGreat video... one day I'd love to have one of these but so far my HF modified dust collector is working out for me. Wish I had taken dust collection more serious sooner!! Thanks again for a great in depth video on this, much appreciated.
ОтветитьSure looks nice...but even at once every 2 years..which would really only be hobbyist replacement time...at $800 replacement hepa filter...I think I will pass and stick with Harvey Gyro....they get such little dust to the actual filters they basically never need replaced...just saying...
ОтветитьGreat unit. Is the auto clean paddle going to damage the filter material over time?
ОтветитьHowdy Mr. 731...
It's a cool looking collector.....for a "large" shop. But, unfortunately, it's footprint isn't small enough for those of us with a small shop.
I'd like to see something from them that's the size of a shop-vac , cause honestly, the vast majority of us woodworkers have small shops, so that model is basically obsolete for most of us.
You hit the nail on the head with my problem. Cutting into epoxy gums up alllll machinery including circulating saws etc. they should come up with an idea to help keep things clear of the epoxy. That’s stuff seems to always stick and jam machinery.
ОтветитьGood review as always. The value equation for this machine is on the pricey side as mentioned several times below. For 9cfm, payng almost 3 grand or more with the shipping is a bit over the top. I can turn a handle on cleaning paddles every so often for free. Also, to replace that HEPA filter after the autoclean paddles beat the you know what out of the filter pads, then that is probably a couple of hundred dollars. The unit is large, you never did show where you are going to put it. There is no way I could get that in my 2 car garage shop. By the time one gets all the tubing, connectors, blast gates, hangers etc. etc., one is looking at 5 grand. For a professional like you, certainly, for amateurs like me, probably not. Keep up the good work, I love your channel and the way you present.
ОтветитьLooking at those side by side, was anyone else thinking:
Danger Will Robinson! Danger.
Hmmmm..... It's good that you're doing well with your business, and the channel. Especially, if it means getting free, or heavily discounted, products. That said, I'm not sure if your audience, that is primarily made up of intermediate, home-shop, hobbyists, are going to start springing for $3K dust collectors. Especially, if this company is having a hard time fulfilling orders. Not knocking the company....or this product's value. Just saying be careful how quickly you jump into bed with someone, as your success, and visibility grows.
ОтветитьPlease tell me your giving your old one to one of your subscribers😂😂😂 love your videos, always great content.
ОтветитьWhat's the metal pegboard system you have behind your chop saw bench? Do you have a video on this by chance?
ОтветитьBilly Mays? 731 is code for QVC?
Ответить2900 dollars.....
ОтветитьA system like this is just overkill for the majority of us in small shops.🤷♀
ОтветитьYeah I would totally buy a thousand dollar enormous machine instead of getting a $20 shop vac, totally.
Ответитьsana all, hanggang nood nlang.
😃🤤👍
way overpriced for what it is you can spend $500 more and get a machine that its 5 times the power and capacity
ОтветитьThank you so much for all your info
ОтветитьYou are going to run out of room.
ОтветитьDid you have to add more or upgrade outlets for all your equipment.
Ответитьgreat video! I was eyeing the Oneida supercell….but then you show that new laguna…..wow…the features….very cool that they sponsored you!
ОтветитьYou should send me your old one. hehe
ОтветитьI'd rather see a review of products after 12m use. Explain what really works, what's nonsense and what doesnt work.
Maybe I'm too old, but shiny paint and flashing led lights don't blow my (grey) hair back. Products that work like they are supposed to well after the warrantee period do tho.
So aggravated. I bought the larger version of these just before they came out with the new model. I had no idea they were changing them. Would love to have that filter cleaner. Very nice upgrade. And I’ve already had to replace my remote. The remote that came with the older model was junk. And love the audible on the full dust bin. Overfilled mine many times 😬. But still love my DC.
ОтветитьDo you feel that the upgrades are worth the doubling in price? I looked at this when you did your first review and it was about $1500. I figured I would save up for that since I felt it was reasonable for all the features.
The new model is almost $3000. Way to much for me. Will probably get something else because of that.
The footprint and collection drum on these is great but the cyclone design is just so inefficient i can't believe how much dust gets through to the filter. You can get a CV1800 for $300 less. More assembly and not mobile but the efficiency difference is well worth it IMO. Unless laguna can improve the cyclone efficiency it doesn't seem like a good buy.
ОтветитьWill you ask Laguna to send me your old one please? 🙏🙏
ОтветитьHey Matt, where can I find the link to your tool list? The one with the sales that you post?
ОтветитьThose paddles can degrade the quality of the filter leaving micro holes. Not heard good things about them.
ОтветитьLove the channel and what make is the of the extending extractor hose you use to clip on and off the tool you are using?
ОтветитьI have really enjoyed your videos over the years because my woodworking journey began not long after yours. If you are looking for advice from your viewers, then I would say be careful with all of these high dollar sponsors if you want to keep with your original image. I would imagine that around 90% or more of your long-term viewers would never even imagine spending $3800 on a dust collector. Stay true to yourself and don't let the sponsors take over your dream.
ОтветитьI would praise it highly if I got it free. Normally I don't watch promotional videos In my opinion you guys say good things and you get a free machine. Sad
ОтветитьMiss when this channel used to be about woodworking and helping the community instead of the influencer channel it’s become asking for subscribers and patreon donations and being full of reels and and reviews. All of them are the same now and use clickbait titles to content farm for views.
ОтветитьThanks for video chief. This DC looks beautiful. If I had a 30 amp breaker I'd get it, despite having a 1car garage. Keep up the good work man.
ОтветитьThe cones these units are two short and don't do good a good job on fine dust if you have a drum sander. I know at one point they were selling addons for the fine dust if you called about it.
ОтветитьI have the older Pflex1 that I have been using for two years and after talking to Laguna this morning, it is NOT compatible with the iVac switch. You have to manually turn the machine on, but it will turn off automatically from the Ivac. That is a major disappointment. Even my Harber Freight dust collector works perfectly with the iVac.
ОтветитьMissed an opportunity to put in an Ace Ventura clip with that door opening and closing scene. Lol.
ОтветитьI'm a beginning Woodworker with a single-car garage for a shop....and want to be able to breath in Winter with the doors and window all closed.....I cannot wait to add this to my little shop. I LOVE my other Laguna tool....the Bandsaw!
ОтветитьI have a 2022 P-flux 1 in my shop and love it
ОтветитьHi can I ask you would this work ok in a 16ft x 10ft workshop I e got a 10” table saw a router table a small cheap thicknesser / planer I call death trap that’s it I’m looking at the p flux because i only have 70% lung capacity copd and other health issues plus I think it not as high as the c flux even though the specs say it’s higher but it gives me different dimensions
Many thanks steve 👨🏼🦽👨🏼🦽🇬🇧
Thank you for this very helpful video. I just assembled the collector and learned a lot from this.
