Wow, I’m so impressed with your talented and precise work. You, sir, are not only nimble of fingers but also have a gift of conveying helpful information about each watch. Even though I’ll never be attempting to repair or even open a watch, I’m fascinated. I’m almost 80 years old and I found your channel and just discovered that my 50 year old son is also a big fan of yours. I can’t believe he actually texted me the other day and said, “Hey, Mom, have you seen this one?” Unbelievable! Thanks from mother and son in PA.
ОтветитьWatch repairs videos are just so thearputic, what an incredible vintage Rolex.
ОтветитьImagine a PanAm pilot being such a respected position a Rolex watch is commissioned on your behalf.
ОтветитьFirst time watching your channel. No pun intended. Very fun! Interesting and calming to watch and listen. Thank you for the content.
ОтветитьMy Rolex is from 1950. Rolex won't guarantee it for servicing. We do have good restorers in London.
Ответитьthe precision of the smallest parts is amazing, how are they ever made so microscopic in size? watch making must be as amazing as watch repair.
ОтветитьAmazing work for an amazing piece! 👏👏👏
ОтветитьWow! How does he remember where all those peices and tiny skrews go back?
ОтветитьThat watch probably sold for about $220.00 in 1958!
ОтветитьThose watches are ugly.
ОтветитьAs soon as I saw "58" GMT....got the popcorn and settled in. A grail watch for sure. So thankful you maintained the original look and patina. A true professional. Stunning!
ОтветитьI see that MTG mat u got
ОтветитьSo interesting, but too many commercials
ОтветитьGreat Video! Very intriguing watching you do this level or restoration. The detail and precision that you are exhibiting are amazing!
ОтветитьWhat you guys think about adding silicone grease/lubricant to the stem of the crown? Any benefit or damage?
ОтветитьHi, I've discovered your channel today, your vids are pure entertainment for me, thank you first and foremost! I have no deep knowlege about watches, but I have a genuine question, I would like to express first that its really just curiosity and in no way critique for I have the utmost respect for the lvl of quality of your work and videos in general. I've heard that especially on the Rolex brand the surface finish is a proof of making or sort of a determent if the watch even is real, don't those metal tweasers and screwdrivers leave marks on the movement parts that depreciate the value or am I generally misunderstanding this? Any help welcome I just want awnsers ^^
ОтветитьThere was a wide range in value. What would you have valued this watch after restoration. How much value did it lose for refinished dial. I would have assumed when dial was refinished it would have been cleaned ? Wonder what ownwer did for work that he got it so dirty. Some background on the owner would have been welcomed. 5 stars 🌟
ОтветитьDo you ever sell some of the watches you work on?
Ответитьgreat video, thankx
ОтветитьYour skills are impressive, to say the least. Not only the mechanical skill but the concentration, the steady hands, attention to detail, and the narration all combine to produce quality results that anyone can see. One issue, at least for me, is you make it look easy and it is anything but easy. A lot of hobbies or jobs are more about having the right tools but this one? The tools are important but without the mindset and skills to go along with them they may as well be paperweights.
Excellent job on both the watch and the video. 👍👍👍
I went looking for a salute emoji but can't find one so I salute you sir.
You have the perfect radio voice
ОтветитьDon't get it. It's ugly honestly. Wouldn't pay 2500 for it or any watch. Walmart 25 bucks. Works just as good. You could buy a house for the price they put on this. And the white parts are as yellow as my late grandpa's teeth were lol.
ОтветитьThe Rolex engineering is phenomenal...as I watched you dissect the watch! Awesome video!!!
ОтветитьI love the Magic the Gathering play mat next to your work area.
ОтветитьDude, just from watching this, I've got heart attack. You did an awesome job!
ОтветитьThat looks like pressure cracking.
ОтветитьThis was super dope!!!
ОтветитьThis is so impressive. Don't think I am going to do this.. But watching is GOOD and SAFE.
ОтветитьTHE ONLY PEOPLE THAT SPEND THAT MUCH ON SOMTHING SO SMALL ARE BRAGGERS. CARS TOO BIG BOAT
ОтветитьMy grandfather opened a school of horology (watchmakers school) in Phoenix az in about 1945 or 47. He was also a jewelry and taught a lot of GIs after ww2.since the gi bill payed for their education.
I am 99.50% positive I have that watch in my box of old watches. The only thing I don't know is if it is bakelite or a replacement.
I worked for my family's jewelry store my whole life....Indian jewelry. My mom wasn't into fine jewelry in the 70s so after we sold our stores she managed a fine jewelry store and I was there on her days off..at least until she retired in 2020 at 82.
I have always said I can walk behind any counter at a jewelry store and start selling. I've done it since I was 9 and I'm 57 now.
I have thousands of dollars worth of watch parts, stones, old pawn Indian jewelry and the supplies for my own work . I'm an artist.
I wish I knew what this watch was worth, I would of got some extra parts from our rolex guy before he died. Great guy.
Have you heard this one.....?
You know where to find a good watch maker?
A cemetery.
That is changing thank heavens . My grandpa always wanted to teach me to be a watchmaker but I was to busy chasing boys. Big regret
It's the OGMT
ОтветитьAren’t the hours luminous circles just as big as the Mercedes circle ?
ОтветитьHow does restoration work like this affect the value?
ОтветитьFirst time here was brilliantly interesting lovely to watch and listen too take care
ОтветитьWOW!! Incredible video. How long did it take you to learn how to do this?
ОтветитьYou did a fanatically 3on this watch
ОтветитьHow and by whom was this old watch valued at the astronomical price of $100,000.00?
Seems to me that these prices are simply pulled out of someone's azz.
Why you no check for cracked or broken jewels?
ОтветитьWhy would you mess with it without protection if it's "highly" radioactive.
ОтветитьAmazing work
ОтветитьWell done !
ОтветитьAin’t no way I’m getting into watch making lmao
ОтветитьInteresting….
ОтветитьFantastic works!
ОтветитьNever cared about watches, but always cool to see a master mechanic at work 👍👍👍
ОтветитьI wonder if that crystal has such an odd distress pattern from decades of radium gas being trapped under it and bombarding it with radiation.
ОтветитьExplain to someone who has no skills in watch repair why rolex stop putting jewels into their watches or have they iv been lucky with being owner of a 21 jewel watch and not sure worth ..and does it have more worth ???
ОтветитьThis dude is the modern day bob Ross
ОтветитьThe watch was running before he removed the hands. Aligning the hands for removal seemed to wake it up.
ОтветитьAll that work for a 10% better looking watch compared to before
Ответить
