A blessed country with a noble Christian history. Please enjoy this story as much as I did, pulled from my Orthodox calendar ("2024 Daily Lives, Miracles, and Wisdom of the Saints & Fasting Calendar") and other sources:

Before the epic Battle of Basia (1203 A.D.), Queen Tamar went to the Odzrkhe Monastery to pray for help. During the liturgy, St. Eulogius the Fool-for-Christ fell to his knees and cried out that they should not fear the Turco-Persian army and that the mercy of God had descended upon the house of Queen Tamar. St. John of Shavta, who had accompanied Queen Tamar to the monastery, exclaimed that the Almighty had made known the victory through St. Eulogius. Eulogius quickly departed to escape praise.

The Georgian national military forces, proceeding forth from the Bardzian monastery, routed a 400,000 strong Muslim army led by sultan Rukn-ed-din. Thanks to this victory, Georgia preserved its independence and remained an outpost of Orthodoxy in the Middle East, and this undoubtedly contributed to the strengthening of the oneness of the faith of Byzantium. In thanksgiving, John composed "The Song to the Bardzian Mother of God". (i have been unable to find the lyrics or accompaniment of this song; please reply to comment if you have a source)
