I can’t even take these reactions seriously because I’ve seen much more interesting movies that are much more disturbing and reactionary then Megan is Missing. Examples, Hereditary, Swiss Army Man, Perfect Blue, Uncut Gems, and Midsommer.

I remember watching this at 13 and my first thoughts after were a)the barrel had water or something sloshing around. B)it probably had mildew,smelled like a corpse, and had to be humid as fuck. So when she was coughing at the end, keep in mind the air she was breathing was sealed sight with water and a corpse. And c) Megan was probably decomposing by then so whenever Amy shifted positions she may have broken some of Megan's bones. Like imagine shifting then hearing crunches.

This movie is not scary at all and not really disturbing. The only disturbing part is that he put Amy in the (i suppose) same barrel as Megan which was already dead and rotting.
People just too sensitive. The movie itself is a 3/10, one hour of watching little girls talk about their little girl problems, then 10 minutes of some "disturbing" stuff and 20 minutes of that mf digging the mf hole in the ground. I just skipped last 20 minutes every 5 seconds, boring

When movie tries to get emotions out of you using such primitive stuff, like showing you "raw" footage of how a little girl being raped or killed, everyone would get emotional to some extent unless you are some kind of psycopath. That's why this movie is so bad, it's just a 20 minutes snuff video with some footage of little girls talking on camera, that's it.

It didn’t traumatise me really.

Firstly, I had no real connection with either of the girls. They say they’re close and they face time a lot but they don’t have a lot in common. The blog that Amy did when she was showing all the places Meg and her hang out, we never really saw those places before so I had no emotion to it.

The barrel scene, although Amy was traumatised, I was not because I don’t see them as that close of friends because I don’t think they betrayed their friendship well.

It’s based on real events and it’s terrible that these things happen but this movie didn’t do anything to me. This movie is more educational than scary to me.

I don’t understand how anyone would have watched this movie and even made it to the actual scary scenes. The movie is literally unwatchable, tons of characters are super unrealistic, the internet literally does not operate the way the director thinks it does, it’s fucking difficult to take the movie seriously and the tonal shifts the film takes do not work at all.

I genuinely do not understand how this absolutely trash movie became so popular on tiktok.

I finished It, I'm not traumatized and it's neither that bad. I don't understand why so many are shocked that this could happen, I mean there are much worse things happening in this messed up world. Don't get me wrong, I think it's awful too to imagine this actually happening to anyone, but it doesn't surprise me. Besides that, I don't find anything really terrible about this film, there are MUCH worse scenes and pictures.
