ОтветитьLearn a trials side-hop, without the sideways movement. Then do the same move while rolling forward. It’s that whip of the bars to the waist whilst pouncing up that launches you. It’s all about levers!
ОтветитьDo you have a how to jump video? I don’t see one?
ОтветитьLifting the rear is not as much useful to learn a bunny hop, but more so becoming confident with pushing on the front while attempting a bunny hop
ОтветитьI struggled a lot trying to do that with the rear wheel and my leg hurts a lot because while trying the pedal hit my leg 4 times and i said: i dont need these
Ответитьthank you Roxy🍻
ОтветитьYou are jumping over the obstscle and bringing the bike with you?
ОтветитьOhlala....super hard for me🤔
What is also great in your videos, you always add a plu value with correct words in each circonstances exemple : watching opposite doing....
If at school i would have a teacher with your method, i would have a different orientation....what do you want....
Thank you Roxy !! 👍
(Sorry for wrong sentences) i' m french. (Nobody's perfect 😅😅)
Also in bicp courses, you have to do this?
I agree with these.. even watching other tutorials ive always been thinking that the rear wheel scoop itself was irrelevant on the bunny hop and believe that i should focus more on the handlebar movement
Finally got a confirmation
Hi Roxy. I've been riding for 30 years. I'm really fast and good at cornering and speed and drops but never really learned to bunny hop or jump correctly. I'll definitely check out your site for coaching. But I have a question. Which bike should I try to learn to bunny hop on? The 150mm travel 29er or the 26" hardtail dirt jumper?
ОтветитьAwesome! This is the best bunny hop tutorial on the internet. These slow-mo ffw-rev comparison of both movements are very helpful, kudos to your editing skills as well as your extraordinary mtb instruction!
ОтветитьWould love to see you break down the jump phase. I get the front wheel up fine but struggle to transition my weight up and forward again
ОтветитьVery tired 😮💨😩
ОтветитьI, m Roxy❤my time not таких девченок как Рокси небыло у нас, тем более по техн.
ОтветитьExcellent breakdown Roxy! I very much agree with your analysis of the bunny hop movement pattern. As you point out, while the rear wheel lift is important skill to learn, it is not essential in learning how to bunny hop. Keep up the great work!
ОтветитьThis is awesome Roxy! Thanks!
This really explains it and will save me a lot of time perfecting a bunny flop. And instead practise the right way.
👍🤝🌷
ОтветитьExcellent! You break everything down so well and explain it with great detail, reasons, and visuals.
You're a great teacher and coach! I'm sure this will give my beyond hope bunny hop a heap of help!
Great information, gracias Roxie!
ОтветитьYou're rad. Thanks
Ответитьare you from austria
ОтветитьThis actually makes sense. I never understood how the rear wheel lift—where I’m moving forward—magically became a hop where I’m moving upward. Nevertheless, I’m still hopeless! I would pay for your in-person coaching, but I’m nowhere near you.
ОтветитьWow nice Roxy ❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe rear wheel lift never made sense. I really dont know why bigger channels keep talking about that part as a thing for bunny hops. I like watching tutorials even if i dont need them to see how they explain a skill. I am glad that i learned bunny hops while riding bmx and took that with me when i started mountain biking.
Really good video. I like that you talk about bunny flops and bunny hops and give some examples for those. And that rear wheel lifts can be used for other things.
Welcome back :) Nice video production change and everything is timestamped. Great :)
ОтветитьInteresting. I agree with what you are saying and mostly because to lift the rear wheel I have never taught riders to scoop to do it.
I have always taught riders to push forward on the bars as they are jumping up. Once the legs are extended you then need to bring them up.
I have seen people talk about scooping the pedals and yeah, that isn't how to bunnyhop. What gets the rear wheel off the ground is the combination of springing upward with the legs, like when shooting a basketball, and then pushing forward on the bars. That's exactly what you said and showed.
I think the difference is in how to explain it and teach it. The thing I am noticing in your technique, and I really like it, is how you leverage the front end, pulling it towards your body, as you spring up. This is that initial pop and I actually think for a smaller built person this is excellent and uses more leverage and less energy.
I have a tendency to upper body everything and use brute strength and even though that works, it's not as smooth and certainly takes more effort.
So I have been trying your pull the bars in towards the hips technique even as my legs come to full extension. This puts more legs spring into the hop. I then watched some of those trials riders who can hop silly heights and they definitely get the legs involved a lot more. I do believe, even though I can hop pretty high, you have helped me even go a bit higher and with less overall effort.
So yeah, technique is everything!
Thanks for sharing. For anyone watching or reading this, stop teaching the scoop for bunnyhops...😉
Muito Obrigado por mais este vídeo! Deus Abençoe! Forte Abraço!
ОтветитьGreat video! I can clearly see that what I have been doing are "bunny flops". I struggle with bringing the handlebars to my hips, though I have a sneaking suspicion that a large part of my problem is my bike currently has too long of a reach. I am looking into changing the stem and handlebars for a shorter stem and a higher rise in the near future.
I love your videos! They have helped me tremendously over the last few months in understanding different skills. I have even managed to get my 8 year old son to watch several with me. The video on stopping negative self talk was a huge help with my son.
