From Hot to Not - A Time Lapse of a 40 lb. Weight Gain

I've had weight issues my whole life.
I was rear-ended in 2009 AND 2017, needed 3 spinal surgeries & gained weight during recovery. I was up to 275 pounds and I'm 5'9". We moved last year to the country, and purposely got an active dog that needs exercise and play time. Packing/unloading our stuff and walking a mile with the dog twice a day helped me lose 30 pounds.
When we went on vacation in March, my appetite was low, and I had digestive issues. I was looking forward to some fine dining, but I couldn't eat full meals. After walking all over San Diego, I should have been really hungry.
My doctor referred me to a neurologist, gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, & vascular specialist. I had an endoscopy, lab work, Doppler of the circulation in my legs, and a neuro-psych evaluation since I'm 65.
Things seemed fine, so I figured I was just stressed. Not living near the Jersey Shore's omnipresent convenience stores, pizzerias and sub shops did help with the weight loss. However, I've lost 55 pounds and, for the first time in my life, I'm not trying to.
A few days ago, my gastro doc noticed my lab work showed my pancreas isn't producing enough of a digestive enzyme. It was causing malabsorption of food, which made my meals shoot through me. He prescribed Creon, a supplement to take with meals (1, 2, or 3 capsules, depending how much I eat.) I hope it works after I give it some time. I found it doesn't help taking it 15-20 minutes after eating, so my wife keeps some in her purse for me to take as we arrive at restaurants.

Perhaps a detailed, complete series of lab tests could show you need a prescription that could correct your body chemistry too? Best of luck to you.
