Is it Time for Triple Banners in Genshin Impact?

All the banners, just unleash hell.

Xiao's and Ganyu's signatures are standard banner weapons. The reverse also happens, Dehya and Tighnari are standard characters with limited signature weapons.

Six months late to this, but still wanna comment.

As someone who missed their chance to get their favorite character back in the 1.x days, I am still on that copium that they do an event or something focusing around this one character, along with others to add some interesting interactions in said event like they did with the last few events, just so she could get a rerun. The character I'm talking about is Keqing by the way, so imo I would be happy with 3 banners purely cuz it means a 1/3 chance of that banner being Keqing... though I know deep down they will never do that and instead pick the other characters in whatever event she is in to run instead of her's.

I can be hopeful, but honestly I've almost given up hope of getting Keqing. Give me a selection option like the weapon banner, which someone else had mentioned in the comments already, so I can hone in on what I want the most from standard.

I am F2P and yet I do wish on weapon banners nowadays. It's not worth it if you want many characters, but I am picky with my characters

Have ''rounds'' of limited banner characters on the standard banner instead. Think about it: for one patch, we have greatly increased chances of getting Yelan, Hu Tao and Albedo (for example) on the standard banner. Another patch we have greatly increased chances to get Nilou and Nahida on the standard banner. All those free intertwined fates will finally come to use in a sensible way, and people will probably still spend money and try to get one of their beloved characters, it's kind of a win/win, but still not quite so. I think it would be really good.

instead of triple banners I would prefer to have 3 double banner cycles per patch similar to what we had in the Keqing banner patch.

What they could do with the weapon banner if they had the three character banners at once, is run two weapon banners simultaneously.

So the first two character's weapons run together and the third gets run with another random weapon that doesnt have:
- a designated 5* (like memory of dust or jade cutter)
- limited weapons that belong to standard characters (dehyas and tighnaris weapons atm and im sure there will be other weapons come out in the same position)
- or a normal standard weapon so people can pull for a standard weapon like aquila favonia or wolfs gravestone instead of waiting for it

I do think they should add like the first 4 event 5 stars to like their own special banner, (those 5 stars are Venti Klee Zhongli and Childe) because theres so many event characters and its a very inconsistent pattern of reruns then every few updates they could add more event five stars from older patches so then more characters are still accessible, it won't diminish the point of reruns, and also Hoyoverse won't be constantly giving certain characters reruns while others don't

edit: forgot to mention this will also be better for new players because then there's more access to five stars they can gather the materials to ascend and level up without having to go through like half the story with a level 40 character because they don't have access to sumeru yet but its their only 5 star

If there are triple banner what will happen to the weapon event banner if is triple there are lower chance to get the signature we wanr

To me, the first character I wanted was Klee. This happened right after her first rerun. By the time she came out I wasn't as excited to get her. I think adding 3 banners at a time is smart to avoid the situation I went through

My guess is that they will do nothing to address this issue, because having longer and longer waits in between reruns will make the FOMO factor go through the roof. It essentially encourages you to roll on any currently available characters, just because you kinda want them, and WHO KNOWS when they'll come back. Not to mention, there's no guarantee that the character you actually want will rerun anytime soon, so you might as well right?

We need a permanent "year one" banner with either weapon banner system(37.5 you get what you want/another year one/25% standart banner) or just default system (50/50) with "pick what do you want to go for"

i'm going to be waiting months for a cyno rerun which is nice because i have time to prefarm but also pain because i want my bad joke-cracking yugioh ripoff now

I think it's better to have 3 batches of double banners so 4 stars show up more.

3 years later: Is it Time for Quintuple Banners in Genshin Impact?

i never hated the double banners because when i started playing i fell in love with ganyu and decided im not gonna spend my primos until her banner comes. i got aroung 400 wishes cuz i had to wait 9 MONTHS

for triple banners to happen they would first need to make the teams consist of 5 characters, i mean we are approaching 100 characters and with everything they had into the game there are teams who would defenitly benefit from having that 1 extra character

Either that or have 3 waves of banners each version

I think the weapon banner should have all the 5 star weapons on it for that patch so even after the limited character is gone you can still get their weapon (obviously it would drop the chances of getting their weapon but thats what makes it still kinda fair)

The limited banners should be split into patches like 1.0-2.9 on one banner and eventually 3.0-4.9 and 5.0-6.9 on two other banners. is it a lot of work? yes. would it solve the fact that eula hasnt seen in rerun in almost 18 months? absolutely.

I prefer shorter banners . The 2 weeks thing was great.

As someone who is almost always struggling to save up for multiple characters; please no. I'm sure there are much better fixes to the gacha system rather than amping up the amount and causing us to spend more money in desperation(as someone who is a goldfish account, lets not do that)

My biggest issue with triple banners is "Where does it stop?" If you keep adding band-aid fixes to problems, nothing is getting solved. We'll then be at a point where we need quadruple banners, then quintuple banners and then things start getting ridiculous.

More banners is always better. IDEALLY, We have double banners that rotate every week. Brand New Characters stay on for 3 cycles (3 weeks) but the secondary banner will change every week. You aren't losing time to save, you're gaining more opportunity to pull for what you want. Also customizable weapon banner.

It might be nice to have a wishlist feature for the 5-stars like in Nikke, so that Genshin pulls from that instead of no say in it. Doesn’t guarantee which, but you have to have something like 10 characters, and your 5-star would be from that list.

Maybe even limited by the existing banner, or favoring a current banner. IDK. I just wish they would cycle the characters a bit faster as well.

At first, I disliked the double banner. I think over the course of it, I spent at least $300 on getting C0 and R1 of everything. Which I know is VERY lucky, but at the time, my only income was my seasonal job.

I didn’t know how to responsibly react to the the double banner, but I’ve learned from that experience that there is always a “next time”. And, Hoyo has released plenty of content to counteract this, I feel.

Sumeru quickly became way too overwhelming for me, and the shortened patches of 3.0 didn’t help that. So yeah, if we get through 6 characters a patch, I think we’ll be fine.

Almost f2p, ive spent a few hundred. (Maybe 400 since launch?) All my wishes are going to weapon banners until wanderer comes back. Only really missing a good cryo and anemo unit.

I think its quite possible they also just reduce the time each banner lasts so that instead of three characters with the banners switching half way through the patch. We get 3 series of banners each still with 2 five stars. That way it keeps the weapon banner from having to have 3 weapons.

I think we will likely get 3 phases with 2 character and not 2 phases with triple banner because of the weapon banner but time will show

1. I say add old 5 star characters and weapons to standard banner and double the drop rate.

2. Add 4 characters in total in the stardust shop, 1 character per region.

3. ENDGAME. Period.

Here's even a better idea. JUST FUCKING PUT THE LEAST POPULAR 5 STARS IN THE PAIMON SHOP CYCLE!! Come on Mihoyo, you're not losing money if you do it that way. Its only 1 purchase of the character. They all need to wait again next year for the recycle. I honestly think they should put Diluc, Jean, Mona, Qiqi, Keqing, Tighnari, Dehya, Eula, and Klee in the paimon shop. Nobody gives a fuck about those characters anyway. If they do, they would spend the star glitters for them just like Amber, Lisa, and Kaeya constellations.

No, we need 7 banners for each update. When I mean 7 I mean 5 limited banners for the standard 5 stars and the rest can be re-run shit for the F2P.

What playing genshin made me learn is that players has absolutely no patience for a majority. I thought saving was a thing a lot of people do but it’s quite the contrary ! A lot of players wish on every single banner when they get 160 primogems. The second thing is that even if you love to death a specific character, you usually love more than one character. I started genshin for Hu Tao and slowly started to like Tartaglia A LOT. Imagine my pain when it was the last 2 days of tarta banner just before hutao’s in 2021 xD even if I had savings it was super tough choice.
Now players have even more choices of characters. Yes they do come more oftenly but I think a lot of people wouldn’t like triple banners because they like multiple characters very often and they don’t save. So they are here with 160 primogems left, 3 characters they love and the fear of missing out. Not saying double/triple banners are bad, but it is not surprising a lot of people will dislike it (especially casual that don’t farm everyday primos that are like 60% of the playerbase…)

i think it would be better if theres 1 banner for each nation (mondstadt, liyue, inazuma and sumeru) and you just can pull on it if you have unlocked that nation

I’m not upset about there being multiple banners. But it’s the possibility that MiHoyo can get the player base to believe that their favorite character can show up on one of these banners & then there’s little to no chance they even want to rerun them (or even again) is what’s bothering me right now. Do you think I’m just looking too deeply into it?

I wish they'd start doing triple banners or weekly double banners,there are many characters so it would be perfectly fine and to those idiots worrying about "ohhh i don't have time to save up" yeah you don't for this "rerun" but the faster they switch the sooner the next rerun comes so it's perfectly fine.
I loved the idea of double banners and i love the idea of triples or more often banners,i love having choises and constant changes,i main all characters so i'm not one of those boring ppl who got a character they wanted in 1.1 and since then they never played anything else =)))))

Honkai banners : those are rookie numbers

Since I play there were about two reruns of my favorite character Ganyu. The first time I did pull for Xiao because I didn't know much about the characters yet. The second time I did not know that she would rerun, so I didn't prepare in advance. I lost tge 50/50 and was devastated. I still wait for her rerun. I wish characters would rerun sooner, honestly.

It seems that Hoyo's solution to the problem might be growing the standard banner; like you said, we get around 9 5-stars per year, and, since Sumeru launched, we've received 2 new standard 5-stars (Tighnari and Dehya), with some unreliable leaks suggesting we might get a 3rd soon - meaning approximately a third of 5-stars released have ended up on Standard recently. Obviously, this reduces the rate at which the demand for reruns grows because standard 5-stars appear to get a 'debut' banner and will never be rerun. I'd like to huff copium and suggest that maybe this is foreshadowing a reword of the Standard banner (epitomised fate? 2 different sets of characters on 2 Standard banners??), but I doubt it.

I feel it is already rather hard to save up for characters. I want Albedo; but since I knew Alhaitham was coming, I had to pass on Albedo just to be able to get Alhaitham. My pity was like 13 and I had 127 pulls for him. I got Alhaitham, a c1 Xaio, and jade wing spear for my trouble. I haven't always been that lucky. I even did a panic purchase for Zhongli when I first started not knowing about the reruns. Then there are characters like Diluc which I got by happy accident while pulling for c1 Zhongli which I also got by a sliver. The characters on the permanent banner are a nightmare to get. I ended up with Ayato trying to get Diluc.(I was told I'd have better luck on the event banners). I have to pass up c1 Cyno to hopefully get Shenhe. I only hope that I get enough time to save up for Albedo, Kazuha, and Nahida(and maybe Shenhe) in the future. What I think we need more opportunities to earn primos. This game is very mad making at times.

The more characters available on a banner the better imo. I hope they go to 3 and then eventually 4 and beyond.
