ОтветитьThis song has always been one of my favorites.
ОтветитьI really enjoy your uploads.
New sub.
🙋♂️
Fun fact: Kenneth Colley (Captain/Admiral Piett) was also in Pennies From Heaven. Maybe he was just absent-mindedly humming the hook on set one day while John Williams happened to pass by ...
ОтветитьI just listened to excerpts from an essay and Its wayy better and more of a song than I think he made it seem
ОтветитьEvery time I see this video's thumbnail, without fail, I misread it as "Your White Woman Town."
ОтветитьI bought this single, I still have it.
ОтветитьI unashamedly adore this song
ОтветитьThe sound kinda reminds me of some of the Gorillaz stuff
ОтветитьI’m so glad to see this song get covered! This has been one of my absolute favorite songs of all time my entire life and learning more background information and how truly ahead of it’s time this song is gave me chills!
ОтветитьMishra responds to comments on the official video a LOT. I made a comment about how “Your Woman” played a role in me courting a lady who I’m now married to and he was all like “Ah how sweet give her a hug from me” (which I did).
ОтветитьBest song of the 90s. I love it so much!
ОтветитьFirst bedroom produced hit is an outrageous claim
ОтветитьGlad ya helped with pinpointing a bunch of songs for me- I heard a bunch of em over the radio when I was a kid (RMF FM if you are from around here and Radio S-ka)
ОтветитьThis song will remain one of my all time favorites! This has definitely made me want to look into more White Town! Great video as always!
ОтветитьI've lived south of Derby my whole life, and never heard this song, but I recognised Derby before you even mentioned it in this vid. Weird confluence for me.
ОтветитьThis song is still on my playlist! I was in college when I first heard it and still listen to it on the regular now.
ОтветитьFor fucking years I wanted to start a band called "Highbrow Marxist" because of this song
ОтветитьOh... named and shamed parliment members who voted for the Iraq war??
What do you feel about Biden and basically the entire establishment of the democratic party Todd???
I swear... liberal hypocrisy, always ubiquitous, has become hyperbolic in the extreme.
What's the name of the Garbages song that is used as an example?
ОтветитьHonestly? Jyoti is a king. I really believe his music would kill today. It holds up incredibly well imo.
Ответитьevery failed musician blames the label.
ОтветитьThis guy is the polar opposite of a sell-out. Does his own thing, and it rocks. Nice chap too, I've interacted with him on YT comments and he's lovely. Wish him the best.
ОтветитьTo me it's quite an hypnotic , well balanced song. Perhaps it's just me but the song is good against stress and anxiety , even more when listened a few times in a row.
ОтветитьLive 105 in San Francisco used to play this quite a bit.
Ответить"Hasn't aged a bit." Yip, that explains why I don't remember it, and keep falling asleep every time I try to listen to it.
ОтветитьI have legit never heard or heard OF this song until just this second from your video.
ОтветитьYour white woman town?
ОтветитьJohn Williams was definitely not copying that show. He was copying Gustav Holst, pretty blatantly.
ОтветитьI found this song hunting for the Dua Lipa sample and fell totally in love with it. It's so intriguing and absolutely fresh - I was shocked that it wasn't made this year. Thank you for hunting down info on it and its creator. Makes me love it even more.
ОтветитьI kinda like the comp beat in that 13+ min track actually, at least the short clip from your video. Can't imagine wanting to listen to it for 13 mins tho. Lol
ОтветитьYall hear the imperial march, and yet i feel like Ive heard it from Fort Minor?
ОтветитьJohn Williams was participating in the British instrumental group Sky at the time of "Pennies From Heaven" being broadcasted.
ОтветитьI will sing this song all I want Mishra DUDE. Transphobia LOL u serious he thinks he cares about women and says stuff like that
ОтветитьOh snap. Ive been gone for a minute. Todd got even more trim. Good on him.
ОтветитьThis song was the first number 1 in the uk mixed in a home studio i know that much and its also a beast of a song
Ответитьfor what it's worth, that horn lick has appeared in a thousand old cartoons (basically from the Forties on up) too, and bedroom recordings have been around for decades -- ask Lou Barlow, the other members of Dinosaur Jr., Beck.or (later) Cody Chesnutt -- and those are just the first names off the top of my head.
He got nothing and incompetence? Honestly, that just sounds a lot like EMI for quite a while.
This song always fascinated me! Thanks for covering it.
ОтветитьThis came out when I was in my early 20’s and I absolutely adored it and the whole “Women In Technology” album. My personal favorite is “Thursday At The Blue Note.”
Also of note, a song that always brings me to tears and I’ve put it on my “Wake” playlist for when I die is his song “Christmas Eve 2019.” It’s truly amazing.
Todd you are very funny and I like the way you describe songs. I would like to listen to music with you, we could dance awkwardly waving our hands around in time with the beat
ОтветитьHow many scores are stolen??
ОтветитьThe original is from 1932
ОтветитьBoston's first album was done in a "bedroom" , but Tom Scholz was (and is) a brilliant electrical engineer ...
ОтветитьHoly shit, the instrumentation to this is Havana - if Havana was decent. Like, not the progression (that's ripped directly from Smooth lol), but the sound, the accentuation of the piano, and just the overall vibe. That's how timeless this song is. It would fit right in with the hottest pop of the last 5 years with nobody blinking an eye.
