Thank you for your amazing videos. I had an interview with Disney and now awaiting response. Your videos calmed me. I am excellent at my job, but suck at interviews. Thank you for your help, I appreciate your videos sharing your knowledge 🙏👌

I feel like they don’t care about thank yous anymore. They don’t bother giving me their contact info or say they will and then don’t send it

Hi, I have a question. What if my interview was coordinate through an agency. all the contact are between the company and the agency. The agency schedule the time and date and I just need to show up. How do I send contact the hiring manager and their team members if I don't have their contact information? Thanks for the help.

How would you address the interviewers in your letter? Should it always be a "Dear Sir/Madam" or should one use their names? I assume the latter and if so, should they be addressed by first name or last name? If I've only been told their first names, should I stick with that or track down their last names so I can address them that way?

I just finished a 2nd round interview with a hiring manager (via Zoom) and realized until afterwards that I didn't have their email address. They do have a LinkedIn profile, however. Would it be appropriate for me to message them on LinkedIn to say thanks to them? Or should I always go through the original HR contact to request the hiring manager's email?

As an HRD I disagree that the thank you note makes a difference. It is a nice thing to do, however.

Thank you! I’m up for an amazing position & knew I wanted to send a thank you email to the panel who interviewed me. Your tips made perfect sense & I feel, gave me insight into how to set myself apart from other candidates. I had already reached out to HR to get the names, positions & email addresses of the panel members. But I was going to send a group email thanking them. I now am drafting individual emails with specific references to what we discussed. Thank you for the confidence! I’ll let you know if I get my dream job. Wish me luck! 👊

I am on the fence regarding the "Step 1 don't reply". As someone that has hundreds of emails coming into my inbox every day, I truly dislike when people do not take the time to link their responses to the email thread. If the candidate creates a fresh email, it is actually extra effort on my part to go and look who this person is: i have to stop what I am doing, serach for the name, remember the details, go look the time of our meeting, etc. If the person replies to the email thread, it is actually better for me as i can quickly link all the details together. As a candidate, I do the "reply" as I assume everyone is just as busy and I consider it a courtesy. Having said that, it is nice to see how other people may regard this in the opposite way. Food for thought! Proof that not one single vision is "the" truth, so I am happy I run into this video :)

I had an interview but didn't have the managers email. I asked the HR person if they could give me the email and if they could forward the email to the managers. The HR person never responded.

Not sure if that's a bad sign.

Hi , thank you for this video,I just had an online interview and their camera weren't on during the interview.
The interviewer didn't as me much questions,he was more into telling me about their organization which took most of the time and afterwards he said he will get in touch with my agency and they will put me through with the next steps.
Please is this a good sign?
Thank you.

Hi Ben

I went on with an interview with Apple yesterday and did draft a letter: a thank you letter but I made a mistake like it was an auto correct. There was approx 7 Recruiters dividing 2 or 3 in each panel round.

What I did is I wrote the recruiters name correct I the first sentence and then in the second one the email auto corrected it and it become / William from Christopher/

I wrote the letter well. Is there any possibilities for me to reply back and tell hey I had an auto correct please excuse me with the wrong name in the email ?

Thank you so muchh.

Appriciations for youuu

Tip: take notes or record (with their consent if needed) the interview. This way, you can clearly remember what they asked you and talked about.

Hi Ben, I sent a “thank you message” through LinkedIn. The reason is, that the hiring manager reached out to me on LinkedIn about this role in tesla. The recruiting coordinator scheduled the interview. My question is, was it wrong to send it on LinkedIn? Thank you.

I think you are not correct on the reply issue as I get confused when people send me new emails when it is continuing on a started subject. a lot of us need to see the history in the conversation so we all know we are on the same page.

Any thoughts on applying for the position in person with a beautiful résumé and you get no response? Should I have put a cover letter with my résumé when I brought it over to the business? Thanks for your great videos!!

Excellent info! It is so easy to do yet so few people write them. I also love connecting with the people who you will interview with on LinkedIn prior to the interview - it helps you stick out, you understand where they are coming from, and you can have immediate conversation starters by asking them about their past experience.

Hey Ben, I used your advice when sending my thank you emails to everyone that interviewed me after I got home.
The GM replied back almost immediately with this.
"Thank you Mason,
It was a pleasure meeting with you. We'll talk soon. Have a great day."
It was very short and brief, do you think this is an indication that they wrote me off? Thanks again for your videos!

Ben, I have two questions: Is is important or necessary to send thank you notes after every interview in a series of interview with the same company, i.e phone interview, group interview, one-on-one interview? How do you go about getting the email address of individuals in a virtual group interview setting like Apple for example? Love this channel, it's been a GREAT help during my job search?
