I have a super-politics commander-cube. Everyone gets Kendric as a commander and most of the cards in the cube say "Target" on them.
ОтветитьProf please make a vid about the current state of buying singles online. Card Kingdom and tcgplayer are super expensive only Star City Games is really easy to use😢
ОтветитьJust played my mono-black minicube with the nephews today, we had a good time. :)
ОтветитьSharing this video with some aspiring cubers in my area!
ОтветитьThank you so much for the tips ^^ I intend to build an "Eldraine Cube" to play with some friends who are relatively new to Magic (because they got super interested in fairy tales themed sets, as did I when I first heard of it haha), so if anyone here in the comments have any other suggestions, I'll gladly take them!
Ответитьi love the vintage cube in MTGO, i wish we got more free cube tokens to mess around more often...
ОтветитьCube is by far the coolest format but requires multiple friends and so many cards!
ОтветитьEvery one of these videos never says a word about how you’re supposed to reseal the packs.
ОтветитьI love your content, and these informational videos are always a big help. Thanks professor
Ответить1: pick an overall style/theme.
Legacy/pauper/set
2: lots of color fixing
Fetches/rocks/ramp/rituals
3: make each color have a staple machanic
Flying in blue, menace in black (only an example). Over lap mechanic colors only a little.
4: card type should not be equial. Creatures heavy green and black, instant heavy blue and red (only examples)
5: Artifacts should be treated as general support cards that benefit every color.
6: gold/multi color cards should be used to help guide deck types
7: no vanilla cards unless the cube is an "artisan" cube. Every card needs to do something. (No Savanah Lions)
8: SLEEVE YOUR CUBE!!! with perfect fits
9: have your basic land base in the same box/container as your cube, and have your basic lands sleeved with perfect fits as well.
10: invest in a good box/container for your cube.
Hey Prof, just wanted to say that when I was building my first-ever cube earlier this year your videos were a great resource. Love that you're updating the series for newer players to try out this amazing format.
ОтветитьMy partner and I have been slowly creating a Jumpstart cube! We love the original and 2022 editions. They let any number of players of any skill level quickly get to the fun part (actually playing!) and this type of cube is incredibly easy to maintain and update. One day we'll branch out into a proper themed or plane cube, but this has been a fun way of dipping our toes into the format!
ОтветитьHi professor! One of the most intimidating parts of having a cube for me is how to actually deal with physically handling it and playing with it. Organizing 24 different packs of cards to play for 8 players on the spot feels like it would be a nightmare and putting everything back in the cube afterwards feels the same. Could you maybe go into that aspect a little bit? Maybe with a follow up video or just a comment reply <3
Thank you!
I love videos like this. Thank you for making this.
ОтветитьWhere can I get some good quality proxies for affordable prices?
Ответитьin the process of building my first cube now and your old videos have definitely been helpful / inspiring; glad this update came out!
Ответитьman, someday i ll build my own cube as well :)
ОтветитьGood video!
ОтветитьI'm 32 and just got back into MTG haven't played since 2002 -2005. And I want to say thank you for the content it's really helped.
ОтветитьI really needed this information thank you prof
ОтветитьExcited to play a cube
ОтветитьDesinging is the best part making a cube
ОтветитьCube is the best format and Cube Con has been absolutely amazing both times I’ve been (it’s only been around for two years)! I loved this video!
ОтветитьI agree 100% with professor if you make people draft lands in cube your a monster i 🫡 your ruthlessness 😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьThese kinds of videos are my favorite! So informative
ОтветитьAlways wanted to make a Ravnica guilds themed cube. But I never get it right when I test draft it.
ОтветитьLove the shoutout to Ryan's Twobert articles (really his articles in general, he is a wealth of knowledge and a treasure to the cube community). Twoberts quickly became my favorite way to cube and they help solve the problem many cubers encounter of often not being able to get 8 people together to draft. Happy to have more people aware of the idea!
Another fun idea I've been exploring lately are cubes based around Pai Gow Magic, could be another cool video idea if you haven't covered that already.
Keep up the good work Prof, hope this helps a little with encouraging you to keep making videos like this one.
I have pauper set cubes. Cubes with cards from certain blocks, but only commons. I love playing with commons, but I'm the only one in my friend group and so I never get to play with my cards :(
ОтветитьStep one, acquire friends
ОтветитьAppreciate the succinct explanation of cubes. Definitely the most important advice is to just start building, rather than endlessly researching. Almost done making a cube from only the cards I have on hand, excited to test it out and perhaps make some cheap synergy purchases
ОтветитьYour informational videos on formats and games have been the stuff I have directed people for years. It has been endlessly helpful to have your channels resources, you are a river to your people and I hope you continue for a very long time.
ОтветитьVintage Cube >>>>>> Everything else
ОтветитьAwesome video! I'll have to start researching building a cube!
ОтветитьI'm trying to build a bulk cube, it's impossible. 😅
ОтветитьI created a Ravnica themed cube where all the keywords from the Ravnica sets (Forcast, Transmute, Hellbent, etc) are all present. Very creature heavy, since it was mostly creatures with those keywords. After a number of plays I've found that "extort" is by far and away the most powerful, and consistently wins when drafted. I need to figure out how to balance things out, but I'm not really sure how. Maybe just a healthy dose of removal needs to be added? Perhaps I need to break out of just Ravnica sets and find cards to better support things like Forcast or Replicate. Tis' an interesting puzzle to try and solve.
ОтветитьOne day I'll knuckle down and make a cube and when I do I'm sure I'll have this video on loop in the background. Thanks so much for this Prof!!!
ОтветитьThank you for putting this guide together. Cube is my favorite way to play Magic. Having a resource to point folks toward if they are new is incredibly helpful.
I hope we see you at CubeCon 2024!
Professor, thanks for making this. I'm just now starting to look into building a cube, I find it super neat
ОтветитьGreat video
Ответить"cube"
Ответитьwtf is he saying to me
ОтветитьEngagement, but also I am making my own EDH cube because I can't make a deck that isn't unfun/busted to play against, so why not just make a cube of unfun/busted cards?!
ОтветитьTotally unrelated comment but still relevant. I bought one of your boxes as a gift this Christmas for my gf. It just came in today almost exactly a week after ordering, on time. The quality of materials not only LOOK but feel very nice. Has plenty of space and I loved the included divider. Pricing was a little steep as this is an honest review. However. I feel she’ll get a few years of worth out of it without quick deterioration. Got the academic XL in purple and black. The colors don’t clash and are easy on the eyes. All in all very satisfied I was able to grab one while they were available.
ОтветитьFor you Professor I wont even skip the Ads
ОтветитьShoutout the Lucky Paper Radio Podcast for anyone looking for more Cube resources. Anthony and Andy are amazing!
ОтветитьGreat vid!
