Im looking for another platform to dj on and not get hit with copyright strikes. Other then this what else could I use ?

The principal of the peer-to-peer idea is simple enough, and an admirable thing to aim for in today's highly controlled Alphabet (etc) Internet landscape.

It sucks majority of the instance doesn't allows registration. 99% of those who allows it, need to approve your request.

This is no good if you need to pay for hosting. You need to be able to run a server on your own device over your home wifi and or multiple devices

This is awesome. I watch most of the real informative stuff on Rumble and Bitchute etc....but I love the idea of PerrTube. Will definitely look into it more.

I might not be your target audience, but would love to understand peertube from a viewer perspective? I am not ready to run a server at this point, but how do I subscribe without that? Do I have to sign up for new accounts for every single server? Just bookmark pages in firefox to remember where they are because the search engine only finds something anout every 4th search for me?

How do you find them though? I tried their search engines, and typed in broad categories for the genres I watch on YT, and it finds nothing. Or it finds something not related but about computers.

The frontend looks nice and like something very useful for inhouse video hosting. Then I took a look at the installation process and got lost. I have no idea of linux, no machine running it and all this commandline stuff without any explaining why I have to stupidly type these lines in and what the computer should do in response for installing several components probably needed (where should I know) made me running away.😥

Um I hope people realize allowing someone to run a sever for peer to peer file sharing . I this system and host vulnerable to hacking attacks
