ОтветитьI guess when God laughs at our calamity, this is one of those times when we doubt Him and say well ok, lets try it and see what happens 😅😅😅
ОтветитьI love when they "Hmms". That was good writing. 🤣 💙😊✝️
ОтветитьBeautiful!!
ОтветитьJust falls to his knees in reverence to the majesty of Him. Brings a tear to my eye. Jesus is Lord.
ОтветитьHalleluiah
ОтветитьThis is by far my favorite scene, but it is driving me nuts because I don’t know nor know how to figure out what kind of fishing that is. Obviously it’s net fishing but what specifically, does anyone know?
ОтветитьWhy it is not in deeper ocean
ОтветитьDespite my bona fide spiritual awakening, when I remembered all of my sins and regrets of my life and poured forth (like the tears that streamed from my eyes) in repentance and feeling God’s comforting presence, I will still feel unworthy of His love and acceptance through my remaining days in this world. And on the day of my judgement, when I stand before Jesus, like Simon Peter, I will fall to my knees and say, “depart from me, I am a sinful man.” I only hope that I’m still worthy in His eyes.
ОтветитьSo touching,tears🙏
ОтветитьThe son of the creator of all things , when Simon went to his knees makes me think how I will act when I meet him one day. I will beg for forgiveness of all my sins.
Ответить😇😇😇😇😇😇

What people don't know here is that James and John (who came running over), the sons of Zebedee here, are Jesus' second cousins. Their mother, Mary Salome, is married to Zebedee, and she is Jesus's first cousin. She is the daughter of Mary and Cleophas. Cleophas is the brother of Joseph, who was Jesus's foster father, by marriage to his mother, Mary, hence Jesus's uncle and aunt. James and John (the writer of the gospels) are the fishing partners of Simon/ Peter and Andrew. Jesus knew them already from hanging out with his cousins. At the time this happened, Andrew was a follower of John the Baptist, who was Jesus's second cousin on his mother's side (Mary and Elizabeth are first cousins). Andrew convinced Peter to go to one of the preachings of John, where John revealed to them that Jesus is the Savior. After that, Jesus went down to the River Jordan, and asked John to baptise him, kicking off his ministry. This is why both Simon/Peter and Zebedee already know that Jesus is the Savior. Jesus just did Peter and Andrew a solid, landing such a huge catch that Peter could pay off their boat. Zebedee told Peter that he would go settle their debts now, so that the four could go follow Jesus. This is why the event is so powerful! At the time, Joseph would already have died, and it is likely that Mary and Jesus had a very close association with Cleophas and his family. They inevitably would have consolidated their homes after Joseph's death, with Jesus and Mary moving in with Joseph's brother's family, until it was time for him to begin his ministry. This is part of the confusion as to why the apostles were called his brothers, though they were actually his cousins.

ОтветитьOne of my most favorite scenes!!!!!
ОтветитьThat well dressed man watching in amazement must have been Matthew, the tax collector, yes?
ОтветитьI have watched this more times that i can count and always get something great from it ! Thank you for this ! It actually helps me understand Peter more and our Lord Jesus !
ОтветитьI love this guy! The actor is so good. Down to earth, and yet....so heavenly. Love the way he talks and put things into perspective.

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:13-19

Now put these two scenes into context with each other. This one in the video and the one in Matthew 16.
This very same fisherman, who felt himself so sinful and unworthy of Jesus's call, was the first person in history with enough faith to see and declare Jesus Christ for who he truly is.
The grace of God here is unfathomable. Simon wasn't rejected for his past mistakes. He wasnt cast out for his present weaknesses. Instead God chose Simon, prepared him, and then placed him in an astronomically high office.
Simon's past life of sin is never described in Scripture. His sins are forgotten; they're buried in oblivion. So far from being condemned... Simon was blessed by the Father in a tremendous and highly honorable way. And Jesus confirmed his Father's choice by giving him the name "Peter", and then blessing him over and over again.
The mercy God has on sinners like me... its just incredible. Wonderful. Worthy is the Lamb.
❤ Amen, we are all sinful, continue prayers for us all! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤ Continue To follow Christ.
Ответитьi havent seen this show and im not really devout religious type but i was raised catholic. i only have seen this scene and im just floored by it. it affected me so much simply by the portrayal of jesus, he isnt this aloof, holier than though figure that many do act like he was and should be like now. he was a man who simply understood the greater picture. he was laughing and smiling cause it genuinely brough him joy to help people. that really hit me hard.
ОтветитьI'm an atheist and I love The Chosen ❤
ОтветитьYes Amen Hallelujah Praise the Lord Thank you Jesus God bless me God bless you all 🙏💐💝🎁. 🇵🇰. ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьIt never gets old
ОтветитьAndrew saying " Simon, I told you, I TOLD YOU", gets me everytime 😭
ОтветитьOne of the best scenes. Brings tears and joy and the reminder we are all sinners but Jesus only sees are potential in Him, our true selves, when we say Yes and follow Him. ❤ Amen.
ОтветитьJesus meets every disciple in a different way. HIs method with Simon was a friendly punch in the face.
ОтветитьCoolest scene from Season 1 seen it many times but still not tired of it. I love how Jesus smiles and chuckles, its like he's saying, "if you're with me, don't worry." Lord Christ turns us into little kids again.
ОтветитьI agree with Simon. If He called me, I know I'm a sinful woman. But, I would follow him to the ends of the earth. This scene Still makes me tear up. Most likely because I know Simon's saying what All of us would tell Him, if we're being honest with ourselves.
ОтветитьSimon almost falling out of the boat after Jesus nods His head is such a wonderful moment.
ОтветитьI'm blessed by the Chosen
