Why is my port still closed? (Port Fowarding) | Reddit Help #1

I've done this in multiple ways and the port still stays closed, mind giving me a hand over discord?

i was just port forwarding port 8080 to my kali linux vm with it's firewall off and it's still closed will it work if i turn that frewall on and just open the port again? or it doesn't matter

Hello, i have a question, i did some trouble shooting and connected my xbox directly to the modem and i get a open nat type but port checker websites shows that my service isn't visible on their end, is this an ISP issue im having? Thank you in advanced

Hey. Just opened a Minecraft server. thank you so much. I had the classic timed out issue and this fixed it.

Looked through so many guides what to do. NONE of my ports are available no matter even if i set them so, i don't get it. This happened after i bought new computer, previous one had no issues, i have zero idea what the hell is causing my ports to be closed at all times...

If i turn off my firewall (disable it) do i still need to do it? I port forwarded my stuff in my router
and still the port is closed and refuses to work. I had my firewall disabled so i thought its fine but it dosent work despite me having my firewall off and my modem being port forwarded. so i came across this video and saw that there is indeed a diffrence between PORT FORWARDING and OPENING A PORT but i had my firewall off so realistically i thought that it already lets all the ports to go trough...

How does port forwarding a range of ports work?

I feel like i did all the staps correctly 1000 times and yet it doesnt work. I am trying to open the 25565 port and i port-forwarded it in many different ways and yet it remains closed. First i tried single port forwarding, than i tried port range forwarding and the result was the same. The port remains closed. Do you by chance have a solution? My avast manages my firewall so maybe that could be the culprit? Because i added manually the ports in inbound and outbound rules already but perhaps those dont effect the avast controlled firewall?
