I remember hearing this song in late 69, after Woodstock. it was just a couple of years for many of us to head to 'Nam. Peace was the message and that still makes sense today.

I’m 67 now but at 13 years old I went to Woodstock with my two older brothers ( I still have the tickets ). I Was totally transformed by the experience. Then this song came out and I was blown away by Melanie, I still have a crush on her till this day, this was the real anthem for Woodstock!

Imagine being just twenty three years old and having the depth of consciousness to write a song like this. Her voice is so pleasing and yet POWERFUL enough to convey the emotion of the shared experience. The backing group is magnificent and adds a dimension of the sacred to the whole.
