I think to make minimalist style work, embrace the minimalist lifestyle. It won't add up if you go for style and later on find you dont have space for your clutter.

Open shelving works when there's just a couple. Its a different story when u start having kids.😁 then u will really hope u hv closed storage to hide all the junk!
