8 Causes when a Vehicle Makes Clunking Noise When Accelerating

How do you check motor mount with a manual transmission I know the method on automatic tranny OPEN the hood keep your eyes peeled on the engine you can see it moving if motormounts are bad from inside the car done that been there V8 by holding the brake put in D and give it gar / will also show in R same methhod.
How ever manuel tranny? how you do this ? lol

I have a ticking noise that u can hear at a lower speed and it will go away when at a high speed. Anybody has any idea of what it could be?

I have a ‘06 GMC sierra 1500. When I put it in 4x4, I hear a loud clunking/banging coming from the front end when I press the gas pedal. I replaced the hubs and CV axles and it still persists. It only does this in 4x4. When it’s in rwd it runs as smooth as can be.

What about wheel bearings or tie rods?

Would any other problems featured in this video, other than the transmission issue, turn on the dash check engine light?

I replaced the intake manifold on my 2015 Chevy Cruze LT. Now the loud clunking and ticking noise is loude. It jerks and idle high rpm an traction litght and engine light flashing fast. Can you help

What could it be if it only does it when you accelerate hard. I can push the accelerator 75% and get up to speed no problem. Smooth no noise. Soon as I push on the accelerator 85-100% I get a grinding down the middle of the car/ arm rest area. It's a all wheel drive. No codes. All new brakes and rotors and tires.

mine makes the clunking noise when i go from p to d and vice versa, or when i accelerate there’s a small half second delay and clunking sound

Helpful, I think! Big thud when start moving and thought was tranny, but after watching, thinking it is more likely a mounting issue of tranny, motor, or drive train if that has a mount. Once moving, no issue with transmission shifting, noise, whatever, so vid helped me realize that. TY. 08 lincoln mkz is any thoughts. Will get it on rack to see if mount issues.

Mine grinds on acceleration and hard to get in gear I seen my top motor mount rubber is coming apart

But It Is Fixable? Nothing To Trip Over?

Mine only clunks till 40 mph then all is quiet. We have 150,000 miles on it and I know I need to shocks n struts but wasn’t sure about that damn clunking. But I will definitely check the CV joints. I hadn’t thought of those. I also haven’t had it on the hoist is some time since I’ve been batting cancer.

Just got my rear bushing replaced and for some reason I hear a clunck noise everytime I press on the gas. It only clunks one time everytime I push on the gas. Any idea why this could be happening?
Also I hear a whine noise. Bushing is from Z1.

02 Kia Sedona. When you put it in gear it seems like it wants to die but it's fine in P or N.
When we try to accelerate we get a clunking sound from the front an it Boggs down as it's clunking like then all of a sudden it sometimes takes off Or we just barely press the gas. Most of the time we have to put it in low gear #1 an shift upwards. #3 gear is where we drive it most of the time cuz you try an go to D- drive it clunks but not as bad almost like a chug .sry it's so long

My front left side only pops when I turn fully to the left side would that only be the left cv axle?

What I hate most is see a video, ask a question and the person who created the video never answer. Why make a video then? My Kia soul 2012 has 69 K miles, all components should be fine. once I move back or front it make a noise like Klunk. Sway bar link are new, struts are news, sway bar bushing new, even new lower arm control with ball join.
Do you think could be Bolts and nuts been tighten without the car seat down on the floor? like those people recommend tighting the bolts with the tires on the floor?

My 2005 F150 5.4 started shaking and shuttering when I had accelerated too fast. My idle is smooth and it does it even when in park or neutral it feels like a motor mount with the shaking but I have a check engine light that’s on that happened at the same time. I can’t check the ODB because it has no power, so I’m baffled on what it could be. last time I had this issue it was a bad coil but my idle is smooth. It also shift gears fine when driving it’s just a constant vibration.

I have an Audi TT 2016, yesterday I pulled away the car about 120 Mph on the motorway and all of the sudden a continuous loud metallic knocking sound appeared.
I slowed down immediately as I actually thought something extremely serious has happened and eventually disappeared.
Now once I'm above 60mph that continuous sounds appears always .
Any thoughts ?

I haven’t found a fix yet my car makes like a spoke clicking type of noise and it only happens trying to accelerate into a turn but if I roll into the turn the noise doesn’t happen and it brings resistance and not there when going faster than 40-60

Mine only clunks for a second at like ten mph right when it first or second cold start doesn’t happen when heated up

How would test the transmission mounts on a front wheel drive 2009 ford taurus?

my rear end clunks/kicks and lags when i accelerate fast from a dead stop. im guessing the transmission or the diff.
