The novel of the same name "Under the Skin" is based off of has a lot more explicit body horror than the movie, and it's much less abstract. It's about an alien who comes from a race of creatures who are kinda like hyenas and earth human flesh is a delicacy for them. She undergoes surgery, mutilating and deforming her body so that she can appear like earth humans and the novel spends a lot of time talking about how much pain and mental distress the surgery left her in.

She also kidnaps strong men along the Scottish countryside, using her sex appeal (which, given how distressed she is by her body is incredibly uncomfortable for her), and brings them back to a farm. At the farm, the humans are castrated, have their tongues cut out, and are fattened to the point of being disgusting blobs that can hardly use their limbs. It's an incredibly distressing, horrifying, and lonely novel.

I was caught off guard but delighted by ultrakill being on here! I think a really good example of body horror are the mannequin enemies or maybe the guttermen and their human battieres. Or the fact that machines tend to have organic parts to them etc. etc. god i love ultrakill

Not a good iceberg list. Seemingly anything and everything is body horror according to what is included. Doing this ignores what defines the subgenre. Breaking Bad, Midsommer, Indian Jones are just a few of the many that do not belong on this list.

A lot of this isnt body horror.

Hi! Author of Entirely Presenting You here, featured in this video. Really cool to see that it was listed, it is very much an honor. Anyone curious enough to make themselves a reader of EPY after seeing this video strictly on the merits of "body horror" should know it's more a feature than the Main Thing. Yes, the things described do happen to poor Alexis, but looking back honestly I feel like I could have been more, um, creative or clever in certain respects, if you know what I mean. Oh well, an "artist" always finds faults after the fact. Anyway, if anything, you can definitely call Entirely Presenting You "emotional horror." I don't think I skimped out in this particular respect.

The cars 2 one probably references either that one spy car that dies from the overheat kill, or most likely the fucked up headlight eyes car that mater sees in one of the shops

The fnaf one is DEFINITELY referring to the fazbear frights and tales from the pizzaplex books, the body horror in those is painfully detailed and gruesome, like there’s a kid that gets torn apart in a machine, a girl who has pizza sauce burst from her face, pushing out her eyes, MPREG, a dude who gets crushed slowly in an arcade machine, and a lot more.
