The training that he puts that kid through is proof that he has no knowledge of what it takes to goal-keep. The kid is just suicide diving without any proper technique whatsoever.

Ima be honest I watched him when I was starting out but I’m a very visual learner and like to do things myself so I tried to do what he did and figured out “ hey this is super easy” just like you said. I find it stupid that he’s says it’s correct and beyond pros even though that horror game showing at that dortmund friendly

As somone that has played as a kid, like most other latin american kids, i quickly realised all that bullshit is doable even by me. And i'm, sure fairly athletical naturally, but overweight and only 180cm. I have done that stuff for fun with my smaller brother all the time as a kid.

I play casually every week I don’t think I can recall a single time ours or any of our opponents keepers were forced into one of mikes absurd saves. It’s much more rare than people think especially for beginners/amateurs, it’s not the kind of thing you need to focus on to develop

Jumping over obstacles to catch balls in mid air....maybe he was a police dog in a previous life. If he does one where he runs along a little seesaw and through a hoop, that confirms it.

im a wingback/midfielder so maybe idk what im talking about but i think a goalkeeper should practice positioning more than dives you should only dive if you need to if your positioned well you wont really need to dive a lot and he always put himself in the worst situations for a save like he is a the other side of the post and trying to dive

Fa cup qualifying rounds was about my limit as a keeper. This guy wouldn't even get a place on the bench in a pre season friendly!

1.57 may be a useless drill but this is how i broke my arm in a game, get the ball put through my legs but made enough contact to slow the ball down. i get back on my feet turn and sprint back and slide it off the line, while the striker has already assumed hes scored and running to his team. lets just say i used my arm as balance it just gave way. never knew how weird you felt after braking a bone

About the part where he injured the kid, I’ve gone through the same drills at the same age, and my gk trainer has national team experience. But he does the drill differently, instead of blasting the balls, he “gently” passes it to build reaction, and when you have to recover from a save.
