Great examples. This is mainly what I have been doing because of the iconic intros of hip-hop and I really like leaving stuff at it's original tempo. I just have to make the transitions more interesting and less predictable

we used to call this chop mixing when we used vinyl because when playing songs with lots of lyrics you couldnt beat match and have vocals clash.Also it brought a lot of energy to a party as you right into the best parts.Sometimes i might have needed to play a song that was about 100 after an 80 and i still might chop it but i would use the pitch fader because it was a big jump in one go and then i would pitch up gradually.The pitching up could also be used to build drama or tension or energy in the crowd .If you did this right with the right tune it could prove quite effective.

Thanks for the tutorial. Glad I came across this cuz it confirms my instinct to create my sets in this way. I'm on vinyl and have a lot of trouble beat matching, and frankly like drop mixing better, and slowly increasing bpm over time to build the energy

great mixing, but you can actually mix 97 to 101. just take the 97 to 99 and 101 to 99. So it's not much giving in on either song. Either way, great video.
