Throwback, Adizero Pro vs Adios 6? :)

Hi, Ed, I usually really like your reviews, but I completely disagree with you on Adios Pro. I don't have Metaracer, so no comment on that one, but I recently bought Adidas Adizero Pro. I paid only 117 € at Running Warehouse Europe, they had nice discount on this overpriced shoe. The shoe looks beautiful and the outsole is fantastic, the upper is very nice. But the midsole (allegedly there is a carbon plate that I don't feel at all, maybe they forgot to put it in my shoe) is utter garbage. I believe if Adidas had put cardboard midsole it wouldn't be worse than this "modern" Lightstrike midsole. If this is how Adidas imagines modern midsole I will surely be not buying my next Adidas shoe anytime soon.
The Lightstrike midsole in Adios Pro is as good as dead. Protection/ cushioning is poor, the midsole is very firm and has no response whatsoever. They somehow managed to put in it the worst of all worlds. This is by far the shoe with worst midsole I ever had. Well maybe some old Asics Gel Noosa Tri (v. 8 or 9 I don't remember) was that bad too. This is one terrible shoe and only because it looks fantastic I stopped my self from throwing it in the garbage bin after 3 runs, each 5 km. These were 3 painful runs. Puma Liberate Nitro, Skechers razor (any razor), NB Rebel 1 and 2 and Prism and NB 1500, Hoka Rincon, Saucony E. Speed and so many other are100 times better shoes than this. This is such a disappointment.

Would it be fair to compare Adizero pro to zoom fly?

Hey Edd! nice video and very interesting. I am going to buy one of these shoes. But my question is - which of them is better for me if I am a pronator? Some people told me that I should go with racing flats instead of high stack shoes. Is this correct?

Does the light strike on the sides go up above the midsole a bit to act as a light guiderail for stability? I am looking for something with a hint of stability. I know it's a neutral shoe, but I have read conflicting reviews on the stability of the shoe, and as someone who doesn't need much, I am just looking for something to block my foot from overpronating at the arch (similar to the Reebok Run Fast, however the SL20 did not provide enough lateral stability for me)

How would you compare the Carbon X (2019) with these? It is an old favorite and also different than the smushier carbonated racers.... cheers

I do like a good usb plug in, but the fun factor of infinite shoelace holes is tempting.

Is weight a factor when it comes to picking up race shoes? As a light casual runner (50 kg or 110 lb) i think i prefer softer midsole. Which of the plated shoes have the softest midsole?

Just unboxed my Adidas Adios Pros based on your review! I am a big Adidas fan so looking forward to see how they run. Dont expect them to be a Vaporfly just a more stable version of the Adios range for medium runs and tempo work

You seem to feel the same way I expect I'll feel when I finally break down and add the MetaRacer to my adizero, SL and Vanish XC shūsenal. Fortunate to have both amazing options at one's disposal.

The Metaracer continues to elude me! Not sure if be worth getting but would be nice to see some for sale for more than 5 seconds (if that). Interesting you note that sales may be down with no races on but whatever has been put out with these type of shoes goes very quickly. You do wonder if they actually made the same quantities seemingly offered in the "boring" daily trainers then would they seem vastly over priced? Bit dubious on the Pro as for £160 it tested no better for me than any of the other much cheaper Adizero shoes. I tried to run in it off road but soon abandoned as felt too soft and unstable for that. It is lower stack height compared to say the NEXT% but still a lot higher than many shoes. Did OK for me on a long run but did not feel overly special.

Hey Edd just watched your family balance vlog, with Kurt Vile and home working.. Could've been made for me! As a 51 year old dad with 11 and 7 year olds, morning generally better but long run weekend definitely brunch time best, give time for family first and after. Good luck mate..btw in Milborn Port, ran beautiful runs for 2 days then ruptured my calf playing footy with kids 😫 but stay positive like runners so will be good soon, Loving Dorset and Somerset, stay cool Edd...💙

Does the extra material in the Metaracer's upper make it only wider than the Adidas or also longer? I find the Novablast both wide and long. Is the Metaracer like that too?
