Man, I fucked up soo many build, glass cannon, tank whit no damage , squishy and no damage, i fucked up soo many times and sometime i still fuck up my build

I’m new to Poe both overwhelmed and mesmerized by the possibilities. Just started a pathfinder and opted in to caustic arrow because it one shots everything for some reason ever since i socketed it lol. I definitely picked up a lot more damage nodes than I should have. Now in act 6/7 seems like you want more utility/sustain/defense nodes and definitely all res. Seems like most skills in this game do decent damage without heavy investment of damage nodes? 🤷‍♂️. I’m still a noob so I don’t know Jack shit tbh

People take offensive nodes?

I just started a build blind, figured since I'm using a bow I should naturally get bow mastery.. Then saw every build online for rangers doesnt even use that node... fuck me

Can I use regret on intelligence an keep my jewel socket active without the skill tree being connected?

Truth is, no one has any clue what to do

Thanks this is already helping a lot. I'm working with two builds that both focus better on one aspect of the same one I'm running (survivability or damage) and trying to balance them is quite hard. I was wondering about if I was getting enough bang for my buck with some reaching and some of this simple rules are already helping figuring it out. Def subbed for more of this.

What is difference between total dps and combined dps in pob? Usually i just look at total dps but sometimes combined dps can be much higher or lower.

I really needed this , I’ve been playing Poe for almost 7 years now and still a noob, I’m always following guides and making builds that don’t really align with my play style, so I usually struggle getting to red maps let alone killing an end game boss

One thing that always bug my mind is, like
Two handed nodes vs specific weapon nodes
What is better? Lets say a two handed axe, should i get two handed or axe nodes?

Badger please please PLEASE do something on how builds should feel when you play them, and how to tell when your build needs work. Recognising that you need to change your build and challenge your own assumptions is the most important part of making your own builds! Many people have covered the "how to change your build" angle but I don't know anybody who has addressed the "when to change your build" in a YT vid.

Badger, I feel like you wrote the piece in the background and it might be the best part of the video.

This is going to be such a great series. It's exactly what Path of Exile needs - a "Make Your Own Build" for dummies lol. I'm looking forward to learning this, it could really breath more life into the game

This is awesome Badger. I would love to see item consideration when building. I know in some cases it comes later after the build is complete. But sometimes you do consider it, I think. I'm not sure. I'm a newb that's why I'm here. :-) Looking forward to the next episodes. Cool stuff man.

Might be a bit more advanced, but I'd love a guide about defenses, not just making a list of the different types like other guides out there, but also show how to layer them properly and maybe give some examples or even flexible templates.

One thing you didn't cover was the tree comparison in PoB. I find very handy to quickly see next step pathing or how many regrets tree changes will require.

Gems: which ones quality matters most, which ones levels matters most, which ones should/shouldn't be corrupted, etc

For softcore, just search damage and get all of those. We dont need defences, game provides 6 portals, we use all 6 portals.

I would suggest a final video would be you making a build
Or showing us you using the concepts in the videos as you walk us through your thought process of one of the builds you did make

One of my questions is: How much dmg and ehp should a build have at lvl 80-90?
It´s sometimes hard to say/see. And much harder if you load up some Builds and see ludacris dmg numbers, that a not nolife-PoE player hardly will ever see.
