I do this too. I started my player at an 80 overall, set his potential to 99, set peak start to 25 and peak end to 36. He gets better and develops on his own as time goes by.

I been on this since 2k18. I’ll make the stories up in my head😂 and make like 1,000 characters with more personality than MP and Shep. It’s way more fun.

The most fun i have with this game is playing MyNBA like it's MyCareer because it's just so simple and i can play a career in any era i want

Im giving this ago in 2k24. im enjoying gameplay but the vc grind is a bit too steep.

Is it just me or everytime after timeout over thay keep on show the beach player and coach when you in middle of the game timeout do y'all ever have that happen to y'all in mynba because it happened on me on 2k22 and 2k23 on ps5 and it so annoying for real 🤦🏽‍♂️

Can I still do this on ps4?

They really need to allow you to import your mycareer player build into the mynba mode instead if having ti make a new character.

MyNBA has been my mode of choice for years..nack when it was called MyGM or franchise / association mode. I personally like to rebuild the team and build a team around a draft pick I get. Online Association mynba is good when you have the right people

The freedom the sliders it’s much simpler be a 60 ovr or 99 park is overrated if you’re not going to be elite there’s no point unless you play with your friends this has always been the best option I play in the bird era my league my gm my NBA Has always been underrated

This is how my bro and I played every single 2K except 2K16. The MyPlayer/MyCareer is just too much. Money got more involved and fudged it all up smh. I’m all for kids enjoying the game!! But there focus is more on the things you virtually buy rather the game’s improvement and creativity. Rather “The City”…We cud be ballin on actual street courts and earning rewards and so on. IMO.

This is sort of how I always play sport games. Never really liked the career modes, but rather always played franchise like I’m creating my own career 👍

man ai teammates suck in both modes it’s annoying

2k does make u grind on the side quests and all but if you do that and play on HOF difficulty you can get close to earning 2k a game in vc so what I do is use the first guy I made to grind vc and use that to upgrade anyone else I make after that and you can request a trade if you go to the my career tab and click on your stats or something like that u can find another tab to request a trade and also request players to get on your team maybe not right away but it’s a much more effective way
to get your 2nd 3rd or however many players you got up to a decent overall without having to do all the grinding all over

They should have the mycareer be an offline experience instead of online. The fact they made it online shows they just want money for you to be able to upgrade yo guy in the slightest

They need to add an offline mode for my career cause I hate that I have to use vc
