The Impossible Job of Green Day's Drummer

I saw these guys a few weeks ago at Nats stadium in DC…hadn’t seen them in 25 years and they still rocked the heck outta the venue…for 2.5 hours!🤘

Now they say tre cool dropped out of school for drumming in a band. Yea he did drop out but a very important detail is neglected in that he got his GED at 16. Including that detail makes a MAJOR difference not only to him then but to any kid watching this video. He didn’t need high school when he could pass that test at that age. Waste of time honestly.
Personally my last 2 years of high school were worth it although I too could have passed the GED test then. The reason it was for me is that I switched schools. I’d been on a major scholarship at a private school which was NOT a good fit for me and nowhere near as good as they claimed to be. I then began going to a charter school where I had ALOT more freedom and was heard by teachers that helped me learn for real.

I am 70 years old and my husband and I went to see them in Charlotte 5 days ago and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to my life and yeah I've been to quite a few great ones

I just saw green day for the first time this past sunday,their Saviours tour...they played 2 entire albums..and a couple covers...the energy was intense! I've seen a lot of concerts and these guys are definitely the hardest working guys in the music business...all 3 of them barely had anything left by the last song...21/2: hours of straight up punk rock mayhem...at one point you could feel the whole stadium literally bouncing

I'm absolutely no drummer and no musician, but I feel like his toms touch is what gives the song this american army touch, which in my opinion, is a big part of their sound and identity. On this sound, you can picture Billie Joe running around like crazy with a huge burning american flag 😂

Over the past couple of years I've slowly come to the opinion that Tre is the best musician in Green Day. His parts in RevRad and Saviors have been phenomenal and they were always good when looking back through their discography. I don't try and put Billie and Mike down because they are also great musicians but Tre has to be the most complete and skilled musician out of the 3 main members. He really is that good.

Great video. Many people have lost interest in Green Day's old discography (peak between Dookie and American Idiot) and it's time to bring at least those albums back to fame. I'm not a fan of their latest stuff, but people forget how incredible and influential they were for the 90s and early 2000s generations
