The Rant - DJs suck

The park I spin at has stand-up tables like a bar, so I have no choice but to setup my gear facing away from the audience and I have my back to the audience. And I love it, not being the center of attention. People's attention is on the music. Occasionally, I get kids parked next to me and watching me like a hawk. But there's not a whole lot to watch because I don't do wild DJ tricks. Just plain mixing, sometimes smooth slow transitions, sometimes slammed from the upbeat (And, One, two, three, four). Or Drum fill into One.

I spent over a year and a half putting on weekly events showcasing Detroits Local DJs .. for free! I created the flyers, the reels, promoted, recorded and hosted and all I got in the end was slandered and cancelled out. They couldn’t stand that i was making a name for myself without being a “DJ”.. I’ve lost all respect and admiration for these individuals and see them for what they are… average people who learned how to play a machine and are more concerned with their “brand” then having fans and impressing other DJs then the paying customer. Detroit is filled with these new age posers 🎉
