As a point of historical accuracy, the maple leaf flag shown in the video was not Canada's flag during the war years. It was changed in the 1960's from the one with Union Jack in the corner and a crest with bunch of other stuff like smaller maple leaves and a fleur de lis.

Not entirely sure about the light hearted attitude on this one. I am a GenX and should be able to laugh this off, but I am the last generation that saw and knew folks personally that were directly involved. It's a hold, while I sort this out.

Several errors: The cross-border pushing was a product of the Lend-Lease Act of 1941 (a few months before the US entered the war) and had nothing to do with the Neutrality Acts of of the 1930s.
Only 2 of the 6 airports you noted were used (Coutts & Peace Garden). The others were all post-war creations that were built for various reasons. There is not now nor has there ever been a fence between Sweetgrass & Coutts. The US did not declare war on Germany, but rather on Japan. Germany then declared war on the USA. There were 48 states in that era. There are probably few ideas that piss off Canadians more than when an American calls them the 51st state or wants them as such. In any case it would make for +10 "states" as Canada consists of 10 Provinces (though only 9 back then) plus now 3 territories.Perhaps if you focused on accuracy and not trying to insert cringy sophomoric humor every few seconds your videos would be better.

To be fair. The 2nd World War wasn't a WORLD war till Japan and the USA got in. It was an European war at first. My country wasn't in the war till 1940, so for us WW2 is from 1940-1945.

It's amazing, all considered with 9/11, that those airfields are still in existence. And the true reason why the US has never built the same sort of wall across the northern border that have in the southern one. That and the Great Lakes.

Interestingly, it was proposed that a second runway be built on the San Diego border alongside the Tijuana airport to help solve the congestion at Lindbergh Field. Oh God, did the ranting bluehairs go off at that one! Guess it's okay to jump an imaginary line when the people on the other side are also white (mostly - well, kinda) and speak English (well, kinda)...

I don't know anything about this, so before watching the video, I'm going to guess there's some weird trade law that means planes don't even take off, but it has to be planes because something about land routes or sea routes, idk. I'm sure the Jones Act will make an appearance or something dumb.

Lots of people believe (correctly) that World War II started in 1941. Before the attack on Pearl Harbor they were two regional conflicts, one in Europe and one in Asia. With the US involvement and subsequently the involvement of many other countries, the two conflicts merged to become World War II. British historian A. J. P. Taylor, held that the Sino-Japanese War and war in Europe and its colonies occurred simultaneously, and the two wars became World War II in 1941

Imagine that you saw the hell of war on the European continent first hand, a war that the US had no interest in entering. and now another war was starting in Europe again, this time the government wants your sons. It’s incredibly ignorant to dismiss that generation’s understandable reluctance to send their sons to war.
