Got my first 8 string last month, and it's the first guitar I've owned since I was in high school. It's weird how the neck went from feeling absolutely colossal to just feeling like a normal guitar in like, a week or two. Now 7 and 6 strings look like skinny little things

well actually first thing i did was to figure out the mental map of those two extra strings and i practiced scales on the extended range... but my Motivation to get the 8 string was actually to be able to audition to a band.. having the 8 string was the first requirement

I usually play bleed with my 6 string tuned to B standard. But instead of tuning it down to B, I tune it really high, up to the B an octave higher.
