I so want to believe but a bigger part of me says this is the body’s way of dealing with death. How does the brain retain memory of this event if you’re dead and out of body? If you’re detached from the physical body, where is this experience stored? I’m sorry, no matter how it’s described as beautiful it still sounds like a creepy dream.

Heaven is huge, bigger than earth. Part of it is like earth, only completely unspoiled. There's nothing unnatural there. Only the beauty. The grass and trees, there are structures but they're all natural. The animals are all tame, and they come to you and let you pet them. There are places where you can worship God through art...you can paint, or sculpt. Everything that we enjoy here we can enjoy there. Waterfalls, rivers, with crystal clear waters...it's full of beauty. There's nothing negative there, no anger, no sorrow. Only beauty and love. We have nothing to fear in death. It isn't an end, it's a beginning. This is our trial, this world we live in. We are here to learn...some people don't learn much. Others have many trials.

My guess.. you overhead a conversation about Madison on your coma. The business card didn't come from the afterlife. Someone, a nurse, friend, housekeeper, etc must have brought it in and said something around you that you overheard. The business card debunks the entire story.

Last year I suffered a series of mini-strokes, then had brain swelling. I was in ICU for three days. I do not recall any of the events. However, what I do recall was traveling through the universe. When I woke up, everything was clam and I had a greater understanding of the universe, people and languages. I can read and speak almost any language, even though I have never studied them. I know what people are thinking before they say anything. I have a great sense of having to leave the house, and go to an unfamiliar place, where people just come up to me and start talking. People I have never met before. I just listen and then go home. I should have died three times last year, but he will not take me. Thank you for sharing your story. I knew I was not alone.

I had a cardiac arrest and died. There was no light, no grandma, no pet dog, no inside or outside stimuli, no sounds, no heaven. Nothing but blackness.

This is the second time I have heard Randy's story. Beautiful. The fact that the universe brought be to this story again after about a year I feel is for a reason. One of the most convincing and honest NDE accounts I've heard. He had a few NDE's and they were all structurally similar (ie. a border where he cannot cross) but varied in what he experienced . Fields, streams , people and children on river banks or playing in the fields , golden buildings and cities , deceased relatives. Orbs of light which seem to be entities in this other reality that he recognised to be relatives he knew in our material world. One thing he never mentioned was a life review or a feeling of connectedness with everything , but maybe the NDEs were too short for him to experience those deeper specific events.

NDEs are nothing more than the "dream" of a dying brain; the brain recovers and the wild, baseless claims of an afterlife begin. BTW, where were you for the billions of years before your birth? And why do you think that now you'd somehow live on now? This is classic wishful thinking by people who fear death and want immortality. It's also why all religions promise eternal life; humans like that myth...a lot.

NDE is not the same as death. Death is permanent. No one has come back to life after all brain activity has stopped. Death is when the brain quits functioning. NDE are basically dreams that are remembered.
