On It’s All Write With Suzette, host Suzette Martinez Standring talks to author Bob Halloran about his new book, White Devil: The True Story of the First White Asian Crime Boss. The book is about John Willis, raised in Dorchester, and as a homeless young man he is taken into a Chinese family when he saved a young man from a bar beating. From then on, he learned to speak fluent Chinese, gained the trust of the Asian Mafia and rose through its ranks because of his violent ferocity. Halloran interviewed Willis who serves 20 years in a prison for his crimes.

Bob Halloran, an anchor/reporter for WCVB, Boston’s News Leader, is an award winning journalist, author, movie consultant and sports writer. His past books include, ”Irish Thunder: The Hard Life and Times of Micky Ward", for which he served as a technical consultant to the Oscar nominated movie The Fighter. Other books include Impact Statement: A Family's Fight for Justice Against Whitey Bulger, Stephen Flemmi and the FBI, "Breakdown", and "Destiny Derailed.” All proceeds from his book, The Fellowship of the No Longer Miserable go to the Jimmy Fund.

Suzette Martinez Standring is the host and producer of It’s All Write With Suzette, a 30-minute show about the craft of writing, which features guest authors and columnists.
