Cool review! Ultimaker looks like a really nice printer, I'd be interested to see what you think of a Creality CR-10 in another video
ОтветитьAbout the wish for dual extruder option: The board even has a spare stepper motor driver output populated with the driver chip and support circuitry. So once a secondary nozzle and the parts for it has been put in place, the rest is just a firmware modification, which already exists and can be downloaded for free. Odd that they still haven't offered that "upgrade option" officially yet.
Ответитьnah the resin is the best but it is costly
ОтветитьAs I understand it, 1.75mm is currently the industry standard for filament. Do you think that 2.85 could be outdated or replaced in the near future? I'm currently looking at printers, and this seems like the best prebuilt bang for your buck. Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of criticism over 2.85 filament. Opinions? Great video by the way.
ОтветитьThe on/off switch on the back is just like an Apple iMac - something I noticed.
Ответитьi like the fact that it's ready to go, too! i'm not good in assembly :D
Ответитьhow did you get ultimaker to send you a printer to test out? was it free or was it a try it for __ days then pay for it?
ОтветитьI recently bought the ultimaker 2+, I also own 1 Flashforge creator pro
1 Flashforge dreamer
1 Flashforge Finder
1 M3D micro
1 3D systems Cube 3rd generation
1 XYZ da Vinci 1.0 pro
Honestly ultimaker 2 suppose to be the highest end printer of all but here is my honest opinion, $2500is an overkill for what it's do, it's claim to have 20microm resolution but seriously what to print that will need 20micron?
All others printers that I have are 50micron M3D 70 Micron the cube and rest 100micron .
I did print 70 micron on the all Flashforge but with half the speed and honestly I couldn't tell the difference.
The ultimaker 2 is quite for sure and the extruder will designed and look better does that justify the price?
Don't get me wrong of all the other printers ultimaker 2 is the best but I'm not sure I can justify its price
Hi, can you please tell me where I can download the octopus STL file?
ОтветитьNice review, I've been thinking about the new 2+ myself.
Ответитьthose spots are for a second extruder, but the only expansion pack is for the original, so ya. But if there is one for the original, there should be one for this printer! Plus, the filament is wider because the filament system pushes the filament from the back of the printer through a tube into the extruder instead of the motor being on the extruder itself. This is a really good thing! It enables the extruder to move really fast and quietly, and the gantry doesn't have to hold up all of the weight of the motor.
ОтветитьHow does the print quality on the UM2E compare to the Delta Kit you assembled? I have an UM2E at work and now that the learning curve is over, it does a great job every time. I am itching to get a 3D printer for home, but I know there is no way I can justify getting an Ultimaker2. Thanks.
ОтветитьYou need to get a GlowForge ;)
ОтветитьRegarding the power switch. It's good that it's on the back. You don't want to accidentally bump it to off whilst in the mid of a 30 hour print. It's even better to unplug the transformer brick from the mains when you are not using it, in the favor of your energy bill and fire risk. About the dual extrusion, i agree it should have been there, i would have liked it as well, but Ultimaker says that they have too many issues with it, temperature differences between nozzles, and the unused nozzle bumping the workpiece over. Every little detail on this printer has been discussed deeply on their forums, everything is well thought-through and has a reason.
ОтветитьNice review Bob...I really like the Ultimaker 2, especially the extended but I can't justify spending the $4000 aud on one
ОтветитьHi Bob,
I'm really interested in 3D printing technology. I have a 3D printing pen, but I would also like to buy a desktop 3D printer, just for hobby usage.
Could you please recommend me a few 3D printers, wich are affordable (under 1100 USD), but also prints in fairly good quality / detail? (Preferably ones that use 3mm filament, because my pen also uses this one.)
Thank you very much for your help! :)
Adafruit has a video on using 1.75mm filament on an Ultimaker 2. No technical mods needed, just some set-up.
ОтветитьCan you test out the new 3D Printer called Mod-T.
Ответитьyou can use 1.75mm on this printer. just requires a settings change:)
Ответитьiam interested about 3d printers and i would like to buy one but im not an expert and i need some advices to buy something good and not very expensive the same time could you release a video or write me a message about it?
ОтветитьNice looking set up man, I'm very tempted to pick one of these up. what is your favorite project you've done on it so far?
Ответитьtight beat!
ОтветитьYou definitely need to check out the ROBO R1 3d printer, it comes pre assembled and has almost the same print size for 800$. It's quality isn't perfect right away out of the box but after a few days with the fine adjustments it works great, especially for the price!
ОтветитьWhere can I buy one of those Octopi???
ОтветитьThe Up ! mini is cheap ( 550 bucks) and the print quality is very great, i have one and I'm really happy with it ! It is plug and play too ! :D
ОтветитьLulzbot does dual extrusion.
ОтветитьHey, Bob! I've really enjoyed the 3D Printer reviews you've put out there; it's interesting to learn about the specific models you've worked with.
I'd be really interested in a more general overview of 3D printing. In this video, you referred to the Ultimaker as a "cartesian" printer and in the comments I've seen SLA vs. FDM but I haven't seen you go into much detail on what that's all about.
Maybe you've covered this in other videos and certainly I'll do my own Googling but I'd love to see you do a run-down video with your thoughts on pros vs. cons and best-uses for different types of printers.
800$ for a matress??
ОтветитьI dig your videos but you may offend some people by saying that the company doesn't sponsor this video. By sending you a machine to review for no coast is pretty much a sponsorship. No problem for me but just wanted to help you keep people engaged in your great videos. Keep it up;)
ОтветитьYou should make a surfboard!
Ответитьmodern times...
ОтветитьCan you do like a diy storage bed? Love your vids!
ОтветитьOmg! I wanna buy one but I don't know which printer prints the best
ОтветитьI Like To Make Stuff+ Thanks. This vid have been perfect without that noice/"music" in the background.
ОтветитьGreat video and review.
If money was not an issue and I mean REALLY NOT an issue, which machine would be the best to buy for the highest quality prints you can possibly get? Thanks and keep up the great work.
Almost half a mil bro
ОтветитьHey I love the 3d printing videos your making keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьThis is the one I have been looking at it. I'm glad to hear you liked it!
ОтветитьYears ago I got spoiled running prints on a professional Stratasys machine. Someday maybe I'll get a 3D printer if my own, and thanks to content like this I can be a little better informed. Thank you for sharing your perspective.

ОтветитьCan you make a tutorial on how to make an electric skateboard similar to the dual Boosted skateboard
Ответить+I Like To Make Stuff I'm going to be buying a 3D printer in the next couple weeks and I was thinking about the Delta printer you assembled but now I'm debating getting this one..... I don't want to buy something and then out grow it or wish I had gotten something different after I have experience with it..... I'm just going to be printing small projects for around the house..... Which one would be better and last me longer......?
ОтветитьI see that corrugated tube project in the background that you teased in the back of the Cruiser.........something for the cats?
Ответить+I like to make stuff they aren't going to make dual extruders anytime soon as the cooling is not suffice t enough on the machine
ОтветитьI don't understand the practical use for something like this. $3,000 is a lot of money. Are these just expensive toys or do they have a real use for the average builder?
Ответитьwhat is the best thing you have printed with a 3d printer
ОтветитьHey bob i have a guestion for you what would be great cheap starter printer i just need it for simple stuff i dont mind putting it together because i love doing that kind of Stuff.
By the way I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Wow
Natan
What's the idea of adding a second extruder? Print twice as many things at once? Or to have 2 colors? If the latter, instead, have an extruder that takes 6 filaments. White, black, magenta, cyan, yellow, and clear. The extruder would be built to mix any combo of those colors to make any color you wish. Say, you want a house to go on your model railroad layout. The machine can print it all in one go, and the siding can be one color, the trim another, the windows a third, with clear panes, a red door, and the roof can be combo of colors that give it a weathered slate roof appearance. Details, like a chimney, the foundation, light fixtures, gutters and downspouts, etc. can be in their appropriate colors. When done, it can straight onto your RR layout..
