so in premiere, 2022, for some reason, even thought im workin in 1080 or 720p and dragging those 4k clip into my timeline and after selecting keep existing settings; the 4k video still shows up at the 1080p on my timeline. like in the effects control; the size is at 100% and if i put it to 50% then you seee all the black areas. does this make sense?

So....basically, if you need to do digital zoom / panning....you're screwed....right?

Soooo ... downscaling in SIZE does NOT reduce 4K quality of final 1080p footage ?

Hey Justin! thanks for this vid! Does editing the 4k scale to frame size 1080 timeline make it easier for premiere to edit? When I right click on the 4kfiles on the timeline they still read as 4k and not 1080p.

I edit my videos in 4k and export it in 1080p. Is it the same thing? Or should I edit and export it in 1080 ?
