very nice presentation. easy to follow for new users. I will recommend it.
ОтветитьThank you for making this so simple, plain, and straight-forward. What a blessings for one machine--so efficiently with dual-booting.
This is very similar to what an old programmer taught me to do with a start-up batch-file when the office I was working for went to "winderz" back in the early 1990s. I put this batch file on a 3.5 'stiffy' disk, and whenever I needed to (a) boot in DOS, and (b) run R:BASE from DOS--it was a breeze. 🛥
Do these instructions work with Linux 11?
ОтветитьThis works for xfce tpo right?
ОтветитьWindow10 is preventing me to install Linux Mint20.3, and I'm unable to use the boot menu that is nowhere to be found, support from the seller is useless, Support from Dell is, great but still no boot menu,
ОтветитьI could not run deluge. Windows complained about a missing dll. Am downloading iso directly. Fingers crossed.
ОтветитьDoes this method work on windows 7
ОтветитьBeautifully explained without any jargon and presuming any background. Keep it up.
ОтветитьWhat should I do if it does not detect windows 10 during the installing phase and just wants me to erase the disk.
ОтветитьCan i do this in windows 7 ultimate??
Ответитьcan I use an SD card for this?
ОтветитьGood job. Thanks for the slow pace. The only suggestions are, lose that distracting background music and it appeared that you had perfect zoom on the Rufus form when it was drifting across the screen but then pulled back to a difficult to view size.
Ответитьwhat if my bios is legacy?
ОтветитьMint keeps trying to use the wrong drive for install
ОтветитьDon't do this, you'll regret it when Windows updates and probably borks the Linux install.
ОтветитьWhat do I do if linux mint doesn’t recognise windows 10?
ОтветитьI've downloaded this to use for dual-booting Linux Mint with Windblows 10. Windblows is required, otherwise I'd' ditch.
Ответить4 years late lol but my grub doesnt load, it just loads straight into windows
ОтветитьThanks a lot! Great info!
ОтветитьI have Windows 10, Ubuntu 20.04 and Mint 20.02 on this Dual Boot, but there is no best of Windows 10.
ОтветитьI have done all of the above but I am not being given the option to choose linux when starting up my laptop can anyone help?
ОтветитьThe best video I seen on installing Linux. The problem I am having is when I boot my PC and attempt to load LinuxMint on the bottom of the screen it say's (Attempted to Kill init ! ) keeps popping up. I have a 10 year old 32 bit HP Any idea what I need to do?
ОтветитьI simply used an iso image burnt to a dvd... 😁
ОтветитьI can’t dualboot Linux Mint 20 on my SSD because my laptop has Intel RST (RAID). What can I do?
ОтветитьGreat Video Thanks. I have a problem tho. I have followed all of your instruction right up to booting linux from the flash drive. However, when I click on the link to install linux nothing happens, infact all the icons on the home page are inactive even tho my mouse worsk. Can you throw any light on what might be the cause please?
ОтветитьNice opening on your video man i like it ;-)
ОтветитьThe only thing to make it better is to stop the video and in large letter write the link address in the window for a minute.
ОтветитьThe very best tutorial for beginners, most other tutorials goes too fast and not details because they know how to use it and they flight by it. 👌
ОтветитьCouldn't install because after language the 1st option is the erase it all to install
ОтветитьWhen I get to the "installation type" step it asks if "...I want to install alongside Windows 10-" I do want to install alongside Windows but my current OS is Windows 7. Would it be safe to go ahead and continue with that choice checked or will that make a difference? I've been searching forums and other YT vids for a long time and haven't found a definitive answer to this question yet. Would really appreciate some feedback!
ОтветитьI did everything mentioned until it got to the dialog screen saying it did not detect any other operating system would I like to erase all and install Linux Mint. Is this a defect in the new LinuxMint20?
ОтветитьI tried doing this on a devoted SSD (all others disconnected) and when I went to install I had to use "compatibility mode" to not get a glitched out screen and when I installed it and selected restart it said to remove the usb drive so I did and pressed enter and all I got was a message saying something about something failed ([0.350863] initramfs unpacking failed: Decoding failed)..... I'm in the process of re-trying the install again, same way...
ОтветитьI did every step like you did . But when I finished installing Linux and went to remove the drive and press ENTER it booted into windows without asking which operations system to choose. I did the whole process again and same thing happened. Help me pleases
Ответитьthank you so so much. I could fix my prob through this video...
ОтветитьThis is the most understandable ive seen for this subject thanks.
ОтветитьBest tutorial on this subject. Well done ol' boy.
ОтветитьPlease detailed what specs pc of your or what best specs for mint to really work with no issue.
ОтветитьAfter booting from USB, a black screen appears!
Saying nothing but *Black is Blind*
Tell me what to do? :(
Although I haven’t tried to follow through yet I found this video the most complete and well presented one on Linux to date! Thank you. As my old computer doesn’t seem to be able to boot from a USB I have installed some software on a CD that makes this possible (again, not yet tried). I suppose there is no way to modify the BIOS to enable a boot from USB that you know of?
ОтветитьTried step by step. Installation type does NOT recognize my win10 boot.
ОтветитьThanks... This tutorial is very helpful to me as a newbie in installing a linux system ( ╹▽╹ )
ОтветитьInstall Linux and WIndows on a PC - showing a Mac. Would be interested in the latter. The first is kind of old stuff and known to work for decades.
ОтветитьA lot of thing change and is very tuff to make dualboot works. No one in internet can help.
ОтветитьNice video but it does not allow me load to alongside windows and as i can see from numerous other comments, there is no solution been offered.
ОтветитьWont my pc slow down having 2 os on it?
ОтветитьGreat info. For dual boot, how to access the c: drive (internal) and d: drive (external hard disc), as well as folders and files created under windows 10 ?
Ответитьreally detailed tutorial..hat off..salute!
Ответитьyou're good , please keep up, easy to follow
ОтветитьA genuine thanks for your smooth and easy to follow tutorial. I will be loving Lynux Mint from what I have viewed so far.
ОтветитьWarning: When you shrink the Windows partition, there's a chance you may corrupt a system file and break Windows so that it no longer works right. The only sure way to set up a dual boot is to start with Windows install media and copies of all the windows drivers your computer needs. Reformat your primary SSD or hard drive and create a new Windows partition in only as much of the drive, leaving the space blank in which to install Linux. If you use the partition creation tool in the Windows install media, then it'll automatically make the separate small system partition. Re-install Windows and all of your Windows drivers for your computer.
Then you can install Linux separately in the free space you've created.
