Thanks Internet Dad!
ОтветитьGreat video Steve.
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial, Just got a jig and the instructions were in broken English of course lol. Had no clue the metered height adjustment was for thickness of the material, this makes sense now. Thanks again
ОтветитьWhat happens if your joining two different size wood.
ОтветитьWhat is you have really tall sheets of wood that need pockets holes at the vertical ends?
ОтветитьHi - I’ve tried several times to drill locket holes. Measured the wood and drill collar accordingly. However the screw just doesn’t tighten and the wood spins round even though I’m drilling slowly. Tried several scrap pieces of wood and all the same. What am I doing wrong?
ОтветитьI want to build a keyboard tray for my desk. Essentially a drawer with no front. Should the bottom of the drawer be screwed to the bottom of the drawer sides or to the side of the drawer sides?
ОтветитьVery nice overview. Thanks
ОтветитьSuper video! Thanks so much!
ОтветитьVery essential & important skills. Thanks
ОтветитьCopped this puppyyy today guna use tomorrow :D
ОтветитьAs always, you’re the no nonsense person to go to when I want to learn something. Great video!!!!
ОтветитьI wish I watched this video before starting my first woodworking project yesterday....
ОтветитьMan, what a useful video!
ОтветитьThank you. GREAT beginners guide. My son is always on about these, now I know what he's talking about. This will be a much cleaner join than the similar freehand style of join I've been creating for years for makeshift animal pens. Off to Amazon it is then.
ОтветитьI've had one for years but ust recently tried it. For hard woods they do a fair job but soft woods tear out terribly in my experience anyway. Mine is back in the drawer of bad decisions.
ОтветитьProbably the ONLY video that I've found that talks about drilling direction of the pocket holes, and why you want to go into the "face grain" or "edge grain", and into the "meat" of the wood.
Super solid overview sir!!!
What if you want to drill a pocket hole into a board that is thinner or wider than the other board? There is a guide about how to adjust the kreg stuff based on the wood thickness but it assumes that you want to use two boards with the same thickness. What if that's not the case?
ОтветитьMy religion doesn't allow pocket holes. Those who use them will go straight to Hell.
ОтветитьThis was exceptionally helpful, thank you very much!
ОтветитьGreat video. It's helping me get the confidence to build a board game table as someone who is not familiar with wood working.
ОтветитьGreat information. Nice refresher course!
ОтветитьJust bought a used Kreg 720 pro. Are the pocket hole screws that important? Is it just that flat shoulder on the head?
ОтветитьNobody ever explains how to kreg 2 different thicknesses of wood like 2x4 to 3/4" plywood table top
ОтветитьI use #2 Robertson deck screws using a drill to run them in and then tighten the screw by hand.
ОтветитьNice job with the video Steve. You covered pretty much all the basics I think. The thing I was looking for was screw selection. You hit it on length and coarseness! So thanks!
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьI just realized this video is 7 years old. The quality is so good. Just wanted to say thanks for the info and all the links for products are dead ends
ОтветитьMy kregg has only 2 holes - really happy that this is like a beginner pocket hole video - not to where this video is yet ..... feeling a bit overwhelmed - I guess I should also say I'm 62 - thanks you're my go to
Ответитьalthough I’m watching your video seven years after you posted it
the information is still accurate….. and well presented
thank you
Thank you for a straightforward presentation. I've done a lot of building of larger projects in my days, but now my wife is wanting me to do little more special projects without the screws showing. Before purchasing I wanted to understand how they work.
Ответитьwow, 7 years ago?!!! Well Thanks so much, love this vide, newbie here :)
ОтветитьReally good practical advice.
ОтветитьThank you for your videos! Must we use the specific pocket hole screws or can I use deck screws? I’m making raised beds with galvanized steel and wood frame.
ОтветитьThis is better than the 720 pocket hole jig , thanks for the video. ❤
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial.
ОтветитьBeen woodworking for about 40 years now, used pocket holes for the first time last week. I'm quite impressed. As you say.they aren't for everyone or every job.but I'm finding them really useful. Bought my own pocket hole jig yesterday. Being delivered today. Really looking forward to playing with it.😁
ОтветитьSaw another instructional video where 1/8 inch x 5 inch drill bit is used to start a pilot hole for the joined board to avoid splitting.
Any body have this issue?
Holding the drill upside down is a great method too. Just over years of messing with these.
ОтветитьYhere are no need for shouting, no matter how happy you are about pockettHOLES
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьHelpful thankyou
Ответитьwhy the music
ОтветитьCommon sizes most use ? 32mm?
ОтветитьI learned more in this one video than in the many I watched before this on the same subject!! I'm a subscriber now for sure!! THANK YOU!!
Ответить^ ^ ^ ^ ^
New Fan Alert
Awesome lesson and video my friend! I've been working on houses for years and now have a commercial pick up restaurant counter thingy I'm doing and wanted my pocket holes to be beautiful! Even if hidden on the inside. I always hide my screws on my deck railings that I build. Customers are always blown away that I sand the rails and nobody can find the screws :)
ОтветитьThank you a very detailed and easy to follow guide .made more sense then the daft instructions I got 😁
ОтветитьMan, you know how to teach. It's harder than people think.
