Functions & Terms of File Handling
If we want to do some operation on a file stored in HDD
We cannot directly do operation on it
We cannot directly access a file
We need a FILE POINTER
We will bring it to RAM [A copy of it], Then operate
- FILE Pointer
- How does file pointer work?→A file pointer points to a file [made by system] which further points to the copy of the program in RAM, which is then reflected in original code in HDD
- A file pointer is a must to operate a program
- FILE * file_pointer;
- fopen()
- How will we create the file copy in RAM ?
- Arguments to pass via fopen() fxn?
- file_pointer_name = fopen("File_name","mode")
- File_name ⇒ abc.txt / complete file path
- The types of MODE in fopen()↓
- r r+
- w w+
- a a+
- How to close the file?→USE fclose(file_pointer_name);

WHICH TYPE OF POINTER WILL POINT TO YOU? - if I am JOKING here then you must be also JOKING! Is FILE a data type? What kind of data type? Any data can contain ASCII and binary values only. Other than that what else can it be? Any memory or file location should also be represented as decimal or hexadecimal numbers.
