my Activator file got deleted from an external hard drive when i connected to computer. i should've turned off antivirus. anyway i used Recuva. it didn't recover my Activator, but it did recover old porn i had deleted and thought it got over written with other stuff

How does Recuva function on Shift+Del 'eted files? I tried a quite poor software that costed money and tried it on an SSD with TRIM. Of course it didn't work. I guess SD-cards are functioning simpler than SSD's, but still flash memory cells?

I have a question it's on my old computer that has a lot of photos and I want to recover them. I had up graded to windows xp and then tried my external drive and found it it was corrupt and the disk was damaged. So the computer that was upgraded to XP has these photos and I really want to get them out. Can someone give me some advice as the recuva didn't open when I tried the method in this video.

I was trying to find a way to convert an Mac APFS to NTFS, without data loss, to share a bunch of files with a PC user. My Partition Wizard program would not convert APFS to NTFS without data loss. I even called the company and ask if it was possible. They said not possible. Then I got the idea to use the data recovery component of my Partition Wizard to "recover" files from the APFS partition and "restore" them to an NTFS partition. It worked great.

I have a rewritable 750mb gold dvd with 2 large very rare and special audio files that was written in the early 2000’s, that says the appears blank with the same used space as the audio files.

I have a version of nero 1999/2000 ish that allows access to them, but I’ve for gotten which version it was.

When I do remember which version it was, I’ll experiment on another disk that I don’t care about.

FANTASTIC CHANNEL!!!!! CAN I RECOVER A USER PROFILE? After a windows 10 update, a temp user file created which I didn't understand at the time. Black screen and 2 days of learning and through a series of watching you I got the system back but not my desktop or anything else. THANK YOU. Took me 2 days - slow learner. Problem is (if I have it right) the original user profile was deleted in my amateur process. I can see a new profile. There was a time where I could see all my files under the original profile but now that folder is empty. Can the original profile contents be recovered or do I have to rebuild my system once I have recovered the files. I lost all my setup for 365 including outlook important file structure and saved emails.

In your windows key, your ad showed a windows oem key. It will only work on the computer that you first install it on. A retail key will work on a new computer if you upgrade to a new computer.

i didn't realize delated files on a SS drive could be recovered like a HDD . F-ing A man , it took two hours to find the files and 8 hours to transfer to USB Back and about 8 hours back to the drive.

CCleaner?? worries me as to how legitimate Recuva is. In my experience, any system with reg cleaner is an automatic system rebuild.

In case of a formatted drive, restore the deleted partition with Testdisk instead. Only works if nothing else happened to the formatted drive after it being formatted. Also of course it only works with quick formatted drives. He forgot to mention the important difference between quick and full format I guess.

I believe it's pronounced Recuvva (like Recover). As for CCleaner, it's only C-Cleaner, which originally stood for Crap-Cleaner.

I'm still using this program, even though stopped using CCleaner years ago. I works well.

What happens if you instead, simply delete the partition on a hard disk instead of actually formatting it? Are the file names still lost or can you get them back?

I enjoy the videos I watch, and the one I used was updating to Win 11 on a non-compliant surface pro 3.

It went perfectly until KB5030310. What happens is: the credentials screen loads, I input password, the system unlocks, however, there is a blank black screen with nothing else.

I was able to load task Mgr via ctrl alt del. I started powershell.exe through and ran the command for "brief" updates display. I then ran the command to Uninstall KB5030310. On reboot, windows fully loaded.

Thinking it was a hiccup, I ran KB5030310, rebooted, and had the same issue, so again, I uninstalled KB5030310.

Any thoughts?

Always go into data recovery attempts with a very high expectation of failure. Having thoroughly tested and attempted to use many products over the decades, few have any value at all.

Recover (phonetically think bruvva) is the correct pronunciation from what the company told me many years ago.

Pronounce it as "recover" without the r at the end.

Best tool to 100% delete date from an old drive is a hammer. 👍👍
