DCS F/A-18 No Nonsense Beginner's Tutorial - Startup, Basic Air Weapons, & Landing

Hey everyone! Glad this video has been helpful to so many people! Just as an FYI: I've got an F-16 no nonsense beginner's guide in the works, now that ED had got the module mostly working as intended. After that if you're into these kind of tutorials, I can probably do a part 2 followup advanced tutorial for the planes to help out for those who want to move past the basics of the plane, adding things like ground attack and more advanced systems, but feel intimidated by the 300+ page or whatever it is manual for these planes by ED. Look for those in the future

When I play dcs, I wanna look around and press buttons at the same time, I hate having to press Alt+C every time I wanna click a button and look around, in your video you look around and press buttons at the same time, how do you do this?

What about the Right Shift home for spooling. This plane doesn't have a real procedure / button for it? I see everyone just using the key combination.

Can I ask if you need to use keyboard layouts like 'left alt and home' etc.. as I'll be using a VR headset on a full fidelity plane I don't want to be messing with the keyboard we I won't be able to see it

Hey I ve tried and tried to download people's setups for the f18 with the thrustmaster warthog and having absolutely no luck implementing them. You have any advice for doing this?

I put ALL my effort in learning, and your videos are very good. But my F18 is a mess, it tends to piss itself into the sea, like if it weighted 75.000 tons. With FULL afterburner, i barely reach the take-off speed, and it's a pain in the 4$$. EVERYthing is maniacally mapped and performed following your tutorial, but nothing works. To say the least, even gear won't retract by pressing G, or Lshift+G, or Leftctrl+G, ora ANY other combo I tried.
SO frustrating, I think I'm about to drop DCS and go back to other sims. Wasted money, to me, I'm sorry for the rant.

Oh thank you. Am new to DCS and have been through so many tutorials I didn't know where to start. I really need this no nonsense approach. Calm and peaceful and I feel I can follow you without feeling I'm getting left behind somewhere. You give me hope that I can actually learn how to fly. I realize it takes time and patience as well.
