It has never made sense to me why conservatives care if democrats want to terminate their pregnancies. When it gets to the point when conservatives cheer on liberal abortions, then (ironically) we know it has gotten real bad.

This issue was the last thing that completely demolished any leftist leanings I might've had. I recall, sometime in the early 2000s, I was still very much pro-choice and I was having an argument with a pro-life friend of mine. Now, the person I was arguing with was bombastic, and completely uninformed so it made dismissing his arguments all too easy. Essentially he argued the slipper-slope and he literally said to me "How long before they are talking about killing babies up to and even after birth!? Will you finally be happy when women are using abortions as a means of birth control and will do so with glee and pride!?" This was patently absurd to me and I felt these kinds of arguments had no place in a civilized conversation because it was essentially a strawman (at that moment anyway). Well, even though he was being obnoxious and hyperbolic about it, ultimately he was right. The moment I learned that people were unironically advocating for elective, late-term abortions, I was officially done with EVERYTHING related to the left. Now, I don't care about any person that espouses leftist ideology in any form. It is pure evil and I will never abide any of it. Pure fucking garbage.

My mother's doctors never gave her a choice whether to take chemo and kill her baby or to try and give him a chance at life. So my brother was stillborn and she eventually died of cancer. I've always thought it was funny that people defend abortion by saying that poor mothers need abortions otherwise the kids will statistically be in the welfare system, or criminals or something like that, but if you suggest killing criminals, or kicking people out of the welfare system that's evil. I'm starting to take issue with the word fringe....I feel like we say it and assume it means a small and vocal group of people. I could easily go down to L.A., attend a college or influencer party, and poll 50+ people and get pro-abortion stances from all of them. There's a degeneracy in leftist stances that is tangible from the cradle practically, since so many parents can't help but indoctrinate their kids. My boyfriend received so much bullying and hate in high school for participating in ROTC in the liberal state of california. "Fringe" is correct, but these groups of people are not small, and they have a lot of power and influence. (and if california is any evidence, zero self awareness as well of how fringe their ideology really is)
