Ego String Trimmer Will Not Wind String In (ST1521S, ST1520, ST1520S, ST1524, ST1510T, ST1511T)

Mine wouldn't load because the nut was loose. Thank you for the guidance so I could see what I was getting myself into.

Just hold the bottom, and it will restring.

I have two ego string trimmer. Neither one came with the rubber ring. What is the size of the rubber ring? But it was working okay when I bought it.

Also, I used strap wrench by Kobalt 4 in (100 mm) to hold the black center part from moving.

Yeah so there are tons of videos out there and I’ve experienced this too where it’s perfectly clean yet still doesn’t feed. I think there’s a fundamental design flaw.

Okay—finally figured out the main problem. It’s the line thickness. It simply doesn’t have enough torque to wrap up .095. Don’t go higher than 0.080 and you should be fine

Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I just wish there was a way to load the line manually when the power load stops working. It’s a shame. I loved this trimmer

Just fixed mine it had a whole ass weave caught in the head. You know I live in the ghetto

My ego trimmer when i press the line power button. The head only spins. It doesn't take up the line.

My Ego string trimmer winds sting in just fine. However, when I bump/hit/strike the bottom against a firm surface it does not release the string. I have rewound it three times, same result. I'm thinking I should have purchased a different string trimmer.

if that power does not work at all like fails to let string out when you tap on ground . Stop working all together , Can buy a replacement put a new on the shaft ?

That was it thanks. I had fibers from an old tarp wrapped up inside ans it was driving me nuts

The black piece under the nut on mine spins. Holding the Green part does nothing to facilitate loosening nut. Is that another problem? I've yet to be able to loosen nut by holding the green thing..and I haven't been able to hold the black piece on top well enough to break it loose. Please let me know if I'm missing something? Has anybody had the issue of it just unwinding while you’re using it? The string winds in just fine, but when I use it, it unwinds.

Thanks for posting this! Super helpful. That nut can be a little recalcitrant so WD-40 will handle the resistance.

I followed instructions and this worked for 20-30 minutes then had string on one side so took it out and tried to reload. It didn’t work so took all apart again, no obstruction out back together and won’t load, it clicks like it wants to but it’s not working any second steps?! I would love a response. Thanks!
