Stop looking for new notetaking apps. This is all you need.

My whiteboard has huge lag between my pen and the screen of my Ipad. If I use something else like PowerPoint, then it’s fine but the Zoom Whiteboard is just impossible.

Does an ipad/tablet make studying more effective? I wonder if I should get one or stick to paper and pen

I use goodnote5 on my iPad for combining anything, getting stuff down, doing practice, working on tutorials, past papers, etc.
For written up on computer notes that hold just the information needed, how to do certain questions, what they're about, just the core content. Then I use Microsoft OneNote which everyone hates on but it does the job, then most of those end up in my Goodnotes as well

Genuine question asking as a noob. What's wrong with the default Samsung notes drawing app on Samsung tablets? Just that it doesn't have an infinite canvas?

I did my formal learning before phone apps existed. I used paper... but basically in this way. These days my learning is mostly incremental and immediately and extensively applied, which definitely aids retention, familiarity and conceptualisation.

For mind numbing facts, flashcards and note taking software with backlinks such as Obsidian are essential if combined with spaced repetition. If we're talking about making connections and conceptualization, infinite canvas will make more sense. Just make sure you label your files correctly and your handwriting/drawing is legible + easily searchable/indexable!

How much should you put in one canvas? Should all notes from an entire class or book be on one canvas? Or should you use a new canvas for each chapter. (And maybe have a master canvas for for the big ideas for the whole class/book?)
