If you are an online teacher, do you find google maps to help your online business? Or are you only talking about in-person teaching? Thanks

Hi Katie! Great video! Do you find Google maps listing useful for online lessons? Isn't that more for in-person businesses? Also, what sorts of referral programs do you do?
My families really like me and kids love their lessons, however I have never once gotten a referral even from those families I have worked with for several years. What do you do to encourage referrals? 🙏🏻☺

RE: Google Maps. Why do students care if the instructor is local or not when the clas is online?

These suggestions are only useful if you are looking for students who live nearby. If your target market is thousands of kilometres away in another continent most of them are redundant.

Sites like Preply mostly have very low hourly rates. $5 an hour might be a good in Bangladesh or parts of Africa, but in a country such as USA it will buy only crumbs.

I have yet to try the Google business setup, but I hesitate as I live far away from the wealthy suburbs and main university campuses where I have gotten most of my students. Aside from getting clients from WyzAnt (and University Tutor long ago), none of the other approaches have worked in my own personal experience. Several of the affluent schools in the area do not want any interactions between teachers and outside private tutors, and flyers have been a colossal waste of time in the past. Any referrals I get are random and sporadic from clients I have helped over two decades. I wonder if there's another avenue I have not considered. 🤔
