i get this, but the amount of mouse control you can learn gets increased on a lighter mouse and ice pads.
but i feel like it dosent matter as long as a setup feels consistent, which mice that can practically be blown away are consistently really slippery. likewise with heavier mice and their inertia.
just buy a new mouse. Times have changed.
Ответить43 mouses? the problem is not the mouse anymore lol
ОтветитьLook if we gonna criticize the industry you need to paint the whole picture here, remember the early 2000s ? remember gaming mice had compartment for more weight even though they already weight like a brick and sized like a brick ? remember Logitech saying mx518 is the best shape that ever gonna exist ? remember Logitech and Razer ignoring community 24/7 introducing laser sensor that had lots and lots of unfixable problems because of marketing gimmick ? pepperidge farm remembers. it was zowie that actually listened to players having legends like Heaton and Neo involved with their design, it was Finalmouse that started the movement for reducing weight, so we can have working wrists when we get older. this industry has come a long way since those dark days and suffice to say that it was the right direction thanks to passionate people. I'm gonna go ahead and say that you're objectively wrong, the stability that you're talking about needs to come from mousepad and not the mouse itself thankfully lots for amazing mousepads out-there with lots of stopping power. overwhelming amount of people reported improvement with lighter mouse
mouse market today is more competitive and better than ever before with lots of high quality options to choose from, just because you have shaky hands doesn't mean that mouse market is sad
this is a tone deaf video and did not expect that from you.
I don't want a light mouse i want a fat ass mouse. I want a mouse that weights 250 grams feed my zowie taco bell for a month then give it back to me
ОтветитьI recently switched from a g403 (~83g) to the dav3 (59g) and i am loving the lower weight. It feels like playing with a higher sensitivity but without the accuracy penalty that comes with it. I mainly play AFPS nowadays so the being able to huge crosshair movements very fast is super beneficial. In CS GO i performed well with that mouse too. But to reach the same flick accuracy i feel like i deliberately need to do slow down, something that i was forced to do with the heavier mouse. I got used to that quickly though.
Ответитьif you really want want a wireless 130g deathadder my honest recommendation would be to buy a deathadder v2 pro, open it up and glue some coins as weight in. Or mybe replace the battery with a really big and heavy one so you also get longer battery life if that is something you can buy. You just have to make sure that the weight balance stays good.
Ответитьvery interesting! just 3 minutes ago I believed as light as possible is the best, but ive been using light mice for a while now and dont remember what heavy feels like.
my argument has always been that not holding a mouse is like holding a 0 gram mouse, and your hand is most precise when not holding anything, so the lighter the mouse the closer you are to perfection. But I guess there is the aspect of it being harder to accidentally nudge a heavier mouse.
this video has made me consider going back to a heavy mouse to try it out :)
I couldn’t agree more. As someone who has very shaky and jittery hands, I couldn’t hold an angle to save my life if I tried with a lighter mouse. My crosshair would constantly jitter and my flicks were inconsistent. I tried out a heavier mouse hoping the added weight would help smooth out my hands shaking/jittering and it worked wonders. If you have an issue with the shape of the g502 hero wireless (which I do as well) I suggest checking out the g703 wireless. It weighs around 110g with an optional counterweight that can be removed.
ОтветитьI'd say this simply shows that you haven't adjusted to the light weight by now. Since you've been playing with 90g mice for ages and on top of that thats the weight which got u into cs, it takes a long time for the muscle memory to adjust to the lower weight. On top of that, u may have just had the wrong light weight shape. Once you adapted to the light weight with a shape which provides consistency for you, there is no reason to ever go back to the bricks from 20 years ago. Thats physics btw.
ОтветитьIf you want more stability and consistency, get a palm grip right-handed mouse like Zowie EC2 and use fingers less for aiming.
If it doesn't work for you right away then you might just need to practice more with it to learn to use it.
pretty misinformed and bad video
light is just better it gives more 1 to 1 movement
you have to lower your sens not get a different mousepad and fingertip is the best grip
but it all takes a long time to get used to
an anecdote: i used the g502 with 130g now i use the zaunkoenig m2k at 23g after trying easily more than 200 mice and i used to prefer the heavier mice i tried
its cool how the sentiment for lighter mice changed it actually used to be the opposite but now looking at the comment it seems people really love them
great!
although now my secret little advantage is gone
Truee, kids love to play on ice now, they love unstable friction
ОтветитьThere is an issue with this video, you are just ignoring the health issue, more weight more health issues, and for what you are saying probably you hadn't give the lightweight a real chance, not even a week or practicing aim, just tested light, felt weird and switch back to comfort zone, the best players today use Lightweight and is because has more potential and a lot like a lot less health issues. Maybe 29g could be to low for a lot of people, but a super light or a Viper pro v2 could be good for most of people, if they give it a chance of 1 - 2 weeks, do some little aim training and change the sens or mousepad.
Yes, there are people that prefer the weight, but that weight come at a huge huge cost, your health, depending on your sense could be, carpal tunnel, shoulder injury, elbow injury, wrist injury, etc. Ignoring all the medical information just because you don't want to get out of the comfort zone is bad.
After using a 85g Logitech G203 for 3 years and switching to a 59g Hyperx PFH(that I've been using for the last 2 years), I can say that the speed difference was definitely noticeable but not as big as I expected it to be. I feel like mousepads and mouse feet are as important if not more important than the mouse itself, because the interaction between those two has to be smooth in order for you to hit shots with consistency. I've used many mousepads that just wouldn't allow the mouse to glide smoothly so the mouse was just kinda skipping over the surface, making those small adjustments super hard to pull off.
ОтветитьBelow 40 or even 50g, might be too light for me, and also I agree that there should still be a market for "medium" non-brick mice around 75 to 89g. As a result, I switch between a Deathadder V2, and an Atlantis OG. Thinking of getting the Keris Aimpoint, but I just wish it were 65g, then I'd probably use that as a daily driver.
ОтветитьMy first gaming mouse was a g502, my last gaming mouse will be a g502. It’s a brick, but it’s a comfortable one with 3 side buttons and 2 dpi buttons that I can rebind to be useful in games that I can’t do without because I hate uncomfortable keybinds on my keyboard. All the light mice that I’ve seen only have 2 remappable buttons that would actually be useful which is a deal breaker for me, if there was a lightweight wireless mouse with the same button layout I might try it but honestly I’ve never found the weight of the g502 to be a problem.
Ответитьpeople are different and we have all have very different habits so "do x and you WILL be better" doesn't carry over that well. Comfortability and confidence is key. i feel very comfortable with lightweight mouses and thats why i use them. i accidentally tried one out after replacing it with my old one not knowing that it was a lightweight mouse and my aim improved in a matter of days. that doesn't necessarily translate to other people. just try things out and get the thing you like the most
Ответитьunscrew the bottom of the mouse you like. hot glue small fishing weights where you see fit. problem solved doing a $5 diy project.
why rely on a manufacturer to increase weight when you can very easily do it yourself?
Honestly, if anyone needs a heavier mouse, it's incredibly easy to do. PCBs, switches, and even batteries are incredibly light. The vast vast majority of weight on mice comes from the plastic. You could probably open any mouse and fill the empty space with whatever and get the same effect.
ОтветитьAt least if you're confident to mod your mouse adding some weight easier then cutting some part to make lighter mouse
Ответитьlow sens = lightweight mouse; high sens= heavy mouse
ОтветитьNah, lighter mouse are objectively better.
ОтветитьNot only i will use 15g wireless mouses with sapphire skates and a glass pad but i will also use a wrist rest with teflon below.
ОтветитьThe logitechs come with weights
ОтветитьI used a 3 ~90 gram mice and after I switched to HyperX Haste, I could finally feel less pain in my wrist. So no.
ОтветитьJust open the mouse and put a weight in there!!! There is no need for a full video
ОтветитьHaha. I missed watermelon man
ОтветитьIt's all preferance, Some people prefer heavier mice with faster skates, or lighter with thicker mouse pad and everything in-between
ОтветитьI feel this so much. My all time favourite mouse is the SS Rival, I've tried others but just can't seem to let it go.
Ответитьhard disagree on weight > shape, shape is absolutely king, maybe you're just versatile when it comes to shape
ОтветитьThe point you did in your video is great. But the practical examples that you have used are quit debatable. If you switch to a light mouse and play bad, who wonders. Your whole muscle memory needs to adjust to that. This takes it's time and adjusting to it will probably take age , since you have played with heavier mouses for quite some time. Maybe you could perform better with a lighter mouse if you give it enough time.
At the end, it comes down to preferences and genes. For example if you have a strong tremor, a heavy mouse might give you the stability you need to be consistent. Although from personal experiences with my tremor, a light mouse ( ~50g) is still my go to and I feel consistent with my aim.
But I share your opinion on the mouse market overall. A lighter mouse is not automatically better, but rather the shape, sensor and buttons make a mouse unique and good.
I think you are mainly battling muscle memory here, not a negative aspect inherent to lightweight mice.
Ответитьlight mice are only good for people that play on a low sens and that have a giant mousemat
ОтветитьEC2❤❤❤
ОтветитьLight vs. Heavy is hella subjective... it's like saying Red is better than Blue. Personally light-weight mice has been a game changer for me ever since I held one, way back when Viper Mini exploded in popularity due to its competitive pricepoint.
Ответитьi went for 8k hz mouse, but ended up using only 4k hz. i miss my old deathadder v2(elite was good too), i was so consistent with that. i'm using viper 8k, it's kinda worn out, but i plan on buying new keyboard(current razer huntsman has the '.' key kinda broken(sometimes it spams it, sometimes it won't work at all)) and mouse grip has a big hole in it
ОтветитьFor most people lighter mice work better. I own SK-S (45 g) for 2 years now. Recently I had to use my old heavy (105 g) mouse. I felt like holding a brick that does not respond to any of my hand moves (I am a hand aimer). Aslo my hand got tired very quickly. Will never go back to 60+g mice.
Ответитьbro FOR REAL i had the same mouse weight issue and ordered a deathadder elite from china a few months ago
ОтветитьThis video is bad. this could have been a decent video. If you had argued that removeable weights should become the norm for lightweight mice so that users who don't want the minimum weight can fine tune the weight of their mouse to their liking then I would have agreed with you. But saying that no new mice being made are heavy is a bad thing is just wrong. A vast majority of people will perform better with a lighter mouse and its just physics, Less inertia = more control. If you want a new mouse but can't stand how light it is. Buy a light mouse, Open it, And fuckin hotglue rocks inside it untill the mouse is the weight you want it to be. or just give yourself more then 1 week to get used to a new mouse since you've somehow gone through 43 without getting used to one.
ОтветитьI miss my Rival 300, heavy and ambidextrous build, even though I’m right handed it just feels right to hold. Sad they discontinued it and I haven’t settled on one since, closest I’ve got is a rival 710 with weights.
ОтветитьSometimes I miss using my 180g Corsair m95 but light wireless just feels better to me. The Corsair was only nice if I didn't have to move it and going to <70g felt literally like taking off training weights
Ответитьshape is king
ОтветитьHonestly Deathadder Elite is just goated ... I am still using it after 2-3 years and hope that it wont die any sooner :)
Ответитьmy old rival 710 was the heaviest mouse i ever used. still to this day my fav mouse i ever used, (sadly it's not wireless) it also lasted me the longest without any issues. all my mice since have had the scroll wheel break within a few months, and with my most recent mouse (a logitech pro wireless) it started malfunctioning within a MONTH. it now scrolls from the slightest touch and every other scroll i do it undoes which makes doing basically anything with it super tedious. i miss my old rival 710 which went on for 1.5 years without any issues like that.
ОтветитьDamn.. it is just how i felt going back to ec2 recently. Tried lightweight mice for years (gpx, viper series, lamzu atlantis, mm712) and it just wasn't for me.
ОтветитьUnderstanding the laws of physics is important, as it helps to explain the role of friction in gaming. While having more friction may be perceived as a placebo effect, it can still benefit players. However, the impact of friction may vary between individuals, as it depends on their mindset and playstyle. Nonetheless, the laws of physics remain consistent and apply to all scenarios involving friction. With that said, less friction is better no matter what if you choose to follow reality and laws of physic
Ответитьweight doesnt effect the amount of friction you have with your mousepad, mouse skates and mousepad are the main contributing factors. There is a reason 99% of pros use a mouse under 70 grams.😂
Ответитьhow are you going to challenge the law of inertia
Ответить
