Magnific Upscale + FREE Alternative!

I've tested both your workflow and Kijai's. I'd say yours is better for anime/cartoony type images and Kijai's is better for realistic.

I haven't found anything better for realistic than the CCSR workflow that Kijai dropped.

I actually find the pricing of this quite offensive. Especially considering its literally an img2img sampler and upscaler looped many times (no doubt running on beefy huge gpus) but the price is outrageous, as its based on open source.

Looking at the sample images on their website, this is basically nonsense. They change the anatomy of the faces calling it "upscaling". Their samples aren't better than (manually adjusted) Topaz "upscale" and those are useless for professional use (I have been working in print editing for a couple of decades now). This whole AI stuff is "mind boggling" but it is mostly "mind boggling bad". Eye candy, yes, but sugar doesn't help a rotten tomatoe.

Having tried Magnific, I wasn't impressed by the quality. Maybe its better for photorealism. I used it on my own anime girls and actually got better results natively with the upscalers used in AI generation.

Looks like a regular (overpriced) upscaler to me! In the dark girl picture this upscaler alters the vibe of the picture completely because you can't use your loras. Unless you go for animals, landscapes, abstract art I would not use this tool at all.

magnific is a scam for that price. Nobody should pay that much for something that is basically a comfy UI workflow put into a website though a API.

Can"t we achieve this with some workflow in comfyui ?

This is an amazing piece of software.

Not an upscale people need to understand this.

People putting their photos through it thinking they own the end result. You remove copyright by doing this as it becomes an ai generated image regardless of your photo being used as the base

@Olivio: ImageScaleDownToSize seems to work. I installed comfyui-art-venture under custom-nodes, but comfyui doesn't seem to find this important node. Any comment?

The reason it’s all over twitter is because all the influencers talking about it are all friends with the founder Javi. I wonder if they all get free tokens? As others had said it’s a crazy price for what is img2img.

Dark UX patterns and misleading the user from the very beginning.
"Upscale your image" in their language means first give us your data (you cannot delete them later), then pay us monthly money, and then maybe we will allow you to upscale your image. I certainly do not recommend. Credits model with some free starters that other platforms offer is much better business model.

I would write it as an opinion under their offer, but there is no place to write opinion neither. This all put together says a lot about this company actually.

Its look like multideffusion img2img with denoising st. 0.28-0.4 maybe with two steps
Conveniently made, but not worth the money. Now they don't even provide test images, so I don't see the point in using it. You can get about the same with A1111

Thanks for all your work and content... I was blown away by this Magnific results when I saw it first a couple of days ago. This is exactly what I have been missing for ages, but I can't help thinking that it MUST be possible to replicate this with all the free tools there are available? The plans they offer for this "simple" service are insane imo.

Price wasn’t so much of a problem, I was ready to jump in until I read: 200 normal upscales & 100 large ones. So it’s limited! Even worst: they don’t even define what those normal and large upscales are prior to subscribing. Their FAQ don’t even explain the specs, resolutions etc. Too bad, the technology was impressive, thanks for this video 👋🏻

The MidJourney landscapes lost a lot of character, becoming bright happy images. Maybe more integrity could be retained with proper prompting. -- (talking about Magnific here, your upscales look more like the originals which I appreciate because the low-res images had some nice qualities)

now upscale hands (where SD struggle the most) LOL
i bet their pipeline looks something like : interogate image -> split image into areas -> enchance -> upscale.
why i'm sure? cause foocus can into smth similar with inpainting but manually.

or i can just not pay $40 for a pitiful number of img2img upscales, and use chainner to actually upscale, for free.
