I got a bottle out of curiosity, and wow!
Your descriptions are very spot on. The flavors spring out on the tongue like a series of ambushes rather than slowly developing like a parade.
The deeper into my glass I got the more I appreciate the scotch. It was heavy on the smoke, then the fruits and spice took over as I continued to drink with the smokiness taking a back seat while still keeping its presence start to finish.
I want to try the 10 year next- but may find myself returning to the wee beastie soon as a fun beer for guys nights!

Finally got a bottle of this today, I think I prefer it to the Ardbeg 10. It may be my new favorite.

I'm not a big fan of smokey peaty whiskeys, but the Ardbeg 5 I actually really enjoyed, gonna get another bottle when I finish my current one

Edit: Also got the Ardbeg 10 but gonna wait to finish the 5 to crack that open, also gonna get some cigars to go with it 👌

Just picked up a bottle today and am still forming an opinion. I had a quick sip in my glencairn but definetely need to have more to give my thoughts. I love islays and especially in whiskey sours so I bought this. I would get talisker 10 as I love that but don’t want to put a 70$ bottle on my wallet rn

The Wee Beastie is very smoky, but it doesn't have the intense plastic bandaid that the Ten has. What it does have is a fantastic fruit flavor. It's excellent and I prefer it to the Ten.

Do you what it taste like? Young Ardbeg 😂

5 is 47 dollars where I live and 10 is like 65 so I don't consider them close in price.

Got a bottle for Xmas and comparing it to the Laphroaig 10 and there's just such a stronger smoke presence in the wee beastie. I like that fine but the taste that lingers dissipates so quickly where I feel the laphroaig lingers. Not bad, by any means, but my preference is for those flavours that develop. I take a sip of Wee Beastie and get a face-full of smoke then it's gone in less than 15 secs. Laphroaig I get smoke but then sea, then brine, then the "band aid" flavour and even after 25 secs I still have new tastes showing up.

I get smoked ham with pineapple on the noise.

It's good. I prefer Laphroaig 10 over Wee Beastie. I will try Ardbeg 10 as soon as I can.

I just bought a bottle. I get heavy salted caramel on the nose. Not sure it’s my favorite Islay, but really enjoying it!

I was looking at another bottle of ardbeg 10, but this was a fair bit cheaper. bit less mellow, but if i wanted mellow i wouldn't reach for islay, would I? I like it.

Hi. Did you ever review Aerolite Lyndsay Islay 10 ?

I was 1 of the first to enjoy this when released. Absolutely wild.
Great smokey both from the glass and mouth but goes away and you can enjoy the fruit and sweet notes when swallowing.
Great price too.

And of course it was a staple at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games this year. (You guys should come out next year)

Simply put: They replaced the old price point of the 10 with the 5. They are giving you a much lesser whiskey for the same price and calling it "Wee Beastie" (ridiculous). I am drinking it as I'm writing this. Don't waste your time on this dram. 5/10

Man, I remember my first trip to BestBuy after my 13th birthday. Had $50 in my pocket, I was ready to buy some CDs, and I walked out with a very deliberately stacked set of CDs. My parents weren't the type to really question my choices in movies or music, but one CD in particular I felt a need to....lets say....be a bit subtle with.

It's kinda funny and kinda sad that I still listen to Candy Ass more than any of those other CDs to this day.

I just scored this one and gave it a go. I also scored 2 bottles of Scorch (which is amazing). I've had a wide range of Ardbegs and dozens of Islay's from all the distilleries. In all honesty, I can't believe they put this in a bottle with their name on it.
What they didn't mention is how terrible this is. Someone gave me a bottle of Lauders (thought they were really doing me a favor) and I probably prefer the cheap ass Lauders.
On the nose: Vinegar, wet possum fur with a hint of a burning outhouse
On the palette: Vinegar, dead possum ass, matured in charred locust from a burned down outhouse.
Finish: a taste you can't get out of your mouth tickling your gag reflex
Summary - A bad idea that should've been tossed out in the first round of tasting.

I think, they cleared out a bunch of floor space of a maturing house that a bad run of nasty shit no one knew what to do with. It is interesting seeing comments that a few like this over 10~I can't imagine how that is possible, but proves there's something for everyone.

Finally got this Beast up here in Ontario. What a kick ass dram!
