The Best Role for Beginners in Red Dead Online

i recommend the bounty hunting role, its pretty easy, and you earn a bunch of money from it

I started over several times I gotta say bounty hunter is best because you can make gold but then I never tried collector imm try collector since I love the map isspeealically north of west Elisabeth and you can pair it with the naturalist roll just in case you run across a legendary animals while looking for collectibles and to me tressure hunting is more fun than pve and pvp when I want a challenge I turn off minimap

Its Best to use them all at once but for me the order by Usage is :
1.Moonshiner
2.Trader
3.Collector
4.Bounty Hunter( only with friends)
And i dont use the Naturalist role yet,but i plan to get into it soon. I play mostly solo too and i make pretty good money, only time i play with friends is When its time to lock in and bounty hunt n I honestly feel bounty hunting in more grindy after a while but it definitely is still fun ash

Listen me personally I don't go near anyone whos trying earn money or trying get their delieveries done at all. I leave them too it since we all know the grind is pain up the ass, I always leave them be and they dont shoot or kill me at all ill let them pass as I said grind is pain

It’s should be bounty hunter for gold, then collector for exp and money - there should be a collector map you can search online, Naturalist/trader, and Moonshiner for last!

Noob here. Picked collector first. The money from my first run across the map was insane. Four tarot sets, flower set, and alcohol bottle set brought me a sum that I blew on the shovel (that has worked once), the metal detector (which has not worked at all), and the collector mid level horse (which is an insanely PT temperamental animal- even worse than my free thoroughbred from the ultimate RDR2purchase). Am making my second run across the map and now know to save my money.

Also finding I get decent gold from stranger missions/story missions and especially from ranking up bonus maps.. I suppose bounty hunter will be next.

with collector role ive earned 4000+ in just 3 days

1. BOUNTY HUNTER - If you want to quickly make GOLD to easily get other roles
2. COLLECTOR - If you want a ton of Money and slowly make gold from other quests/story quests

The moonshiner story missions are awesome. The last one with the fire is epic.

I unlocked bh for the first and when I had another 15 gb I got Collector then another 15 and I bought pbh license and finaly I bought trader but I am short of materials and because of that I might have buy the Naturalist role wich realy hurts me to spend 25 for that btw I now have 23.95 gb so if I am making a mistake by unlocking Naturalist just be quick to Warn me

i vote the best role is any other game on the market almost... this is a bottom 5% game imo. just a shit cash grab ea style bug infested hacker infested shit hole game

You should pick whatever you want, because eventually you're going to be rich and bored like the rest of us. There aint any new content coming so take it slow.

After buying bounty hunter role as my 1st (about 18 months ago), ive done nothing but bounties, and completing Red Ben Clempson over and over again with my friends (back then the payout was huge, 48 gold bars fixed, not related to time, and over 500 RDO$ after each mission), then blood money missions came out and 2x gold earnings to that. Unfortunately my friends got bored of the game and left it, but I kept playing, because I loved every aspect of the game (it felt like a direct upgrade in every way compared to GTA5), the shooting mechanics, the beauty of the world and the ability to ROLE PLAY, I mean in GTA5 u pretty much just go and shoot but in RDO besides that u can craft, cook, hunt, fish, collect, explore, and theres even a bit of story with Ms. LeClerk. And even after over 250 hours of playing and owning still only the bounty hunter role cuz I spent all my gold to weapon cosmetics I still enjoy playing and Im planning to buy the collector and moonshiner role, cuz I need money now (even on this level Im always out of gold and money) to level up ability cards and xp aswell, so collector role would be helpful, and getting moonshiner not just for the passive income, but for the extra story line and just to have a saloon myself aswell where I can welcome my friends if there will be any playing RDO (and I mean how cool is that when you own an illegal alcohol business!).

Edit: Im just praying for Rockstar Games to not let this game die.

In ONE MONTH I went from level 0 to 96. Collector role first...grind! Trader role 2nd...grind! Then Moonshiner...which is easy to rank up. Grinding the collector role will level you up extremely fast! PVP CAT is where I get ALL my RDO tips

They are all boring. Game looks like abandoned in 1/4 phase of development. I only didnt tried naturalist yet. Moonshiner... costs a lot. Then I need to spend more money on ingredients than what I get from selling moonshine. xD Shity role. Bounty hunter and trader are ok. Collector is boring as fuck.

The collector role is the best for me, because i love explore the map to get the collectibles, i beated up like 10 games with 100% that needed collect like 100+ collectibles for the map, thats why i like the collector

Thinking about 2nd role and being basically an employee in someone's trading company made me realize the social aspect of trade.

It's good money but i'm an introvert and not interested in grinding with other people who try to fill the silence with banter. But collector and bounty hunter seems like the way to go since I have a honorable character and don't want to do blood money. I've already collected some tarot cards doing bounties but have no idea if I completed a set yet.

My level right now is 33. The best role to start with would be bounty hunting as you can make money + gold other roles :)

I would choose bh because the legendary bounties are very entertaining and it pays well in gold. It also helps you get better at pve/pvp.

All depends on the person that’s what it really comes down too.

If we exclude blood money or even included it, your gold income is your top priority till you have all the roles. Bounty hunter is top 1st buy always. You have no gold income besides dailies and treasure hunts if you don't do blood money and can't get the other roles because you didn't buy bounty hunter.

I still think bounty hunter. It teaches you something just as important as gold/currency, and that’s the combat mechanic, there’s always that one asshole who wants to ruin your day, and getting rusty with the mechanics sucks.

I have 25 gold and I just want to know which would be better moonshine or naturalist and which does give gold if it does

I just started playing RDO in december when winter update released, I started with collector role and it’s definitely the best choice in my opinion. Earning gold has been relatively easy so choosing bounty hunter isn’t necessary for your first role, and won’t garner nearly the same amount of money or xp. Doing daily challenges, treasure maps, blood money missions and stranger missions I was easily able to earn enough gold to buy the prestigious bounty hunter license straight away as my second role. Collector allowed me to get a ton of cash and get better gear and buy other upgrades for other roles, maybe more importantly you get insane amounts of xp for collector role. I’ve been playing for almost a month and i’m already almost level 100, I credit a lot of that to collector role for leveling up so quickly I already have explosive rounds unlocked. The best part is it’s guaranteed money, if you have the time you know you’re guaranteed to make at least a few hundred dollars that day. You don’t have to rely on riding around hoping you get good rng on animal spawns for perfect pelts, and hoping you don’t ruin the pelt so you can actually kill it and donate it to cripps, and hoping you don’t get killed by griefers on the way, you don’t have to rely on how much time you spend in the mission or whether or not you keep the target alive, you just ride around collect cards, flowers, bottles, eggs, heirlooms, whatever you like and get guaranteed cash and xp.

Funny part about starting during the winter update is the cold weather was making me die and cores drain super fast, I had zero money or gold and had a hard time finding the right combination of winter garments that I could afford, eventually I did get a cold outfit but it was frustrating dying from the winter as a new player, but collector certainly helped to afford new clothes. Purchases are very expensive in RDO so it’s nice to have good amounts of money early on and requires no investment for upgrades

I just started to play RDO 5 days ago on Xbox. I just grinded the first 3 missions from the blond lady back to back, helped some Strangers get back to their houses, and completed 5 daily challenges so far (once per day) until I got the 10 Gold bars combined.

With the discount that R* put for the Bounty Hunter license, this is the 1st role I got. I'll wait until the snow goes away to continue with the adventures since you can't see sh!t.

i think the best two is trader and bounty hunter since im using this two i can go on bounty hunting if i bored of finding game for that hobo

The collector role is very boring and some collexting is pain in the as* so i allways stay with bounty hunter

i really regret buying gold for the bounty hunter role but it paid off because i grinded bounties for trader table and collector

Tho she doesn't really like to take showers but Harriet is one of the beautiful female characters in rdr2

Bounty hunter, moonshiner or trader, collector. Naturalist if your bored. Love the game. Red dead online or nothing Rockstar, your choice.

I would say the Trader role has the most structure without having missions. You can grind or you can chill, and be earning XP and good cash either way. It encourages group play for grinding, but it can also be a good 10-15 minutes of play to hunt something and load your wagon.

If you have a LOT of time on your hand, its got solid break ups between hunting to get supplies and do runs. On a day off, I was able to do 3 full wagon loads solo. But I also like riding with the posse when they are available.
